Just wait, Virutis will see this at some point. I can't promise he'll be as forgiving. But ya, there are a lot of gear out there that will help you heal. A lot of armor and jewelry exists with +heal. Joram did a great job healing in the pally raid. It wasn't his regular spec but did it for the good of the raid. I remember him saying that with the fast casting and Paladin heal line, he was able to pretty much spam heals non stop.

I'd recomend instead of changing AA spec for healage, just change out gear (or better yet, just make an alt. Healers are not a gear intensive class and at this point in the xpac all your masters could probably be bought for only 100pp or so). I'm very lacking in the heal gear department(as I have an equally well equipt defiler that I constantly switch to).

But here are some items you could macro in for when healing is needed. And I'm not sure what your guild is capable of getting, but I'd assume if you are looking for healers you are raiding EoF as all of KoS with exception of a few mobs can be solo healed by a shaman even in a pickup raid:

As not many Pallys even attempt a heal spec our wiki may need your input if you find something that really works well although a few specs have been suggested there in the Healing & Support section...

A few of us toyed with it extensively on the test server and I got some great tips from Joram for my, now defunct, heal twink. One of the coolest items I built was this pair of gloves. This +70 heal amount alone did wonders for my heal parse even soloing.

For uber Paladin healing, lower your recast time of ward and heals through AAs and Paladin set gear. Then increase your base heal amounts to as high as possible.... then crits.... but recast times is your big play maker as a Paladin healer.

I was #3 in the PfR parse but, I'm tellin ya, I was sooooooo going to be a #1 heal parse contender in the next PfR raid. /grumble

I respec'd according to Boli's suggestion and I must say it rocks.

We did Lyceum with 1/4 pickup. Here are the parse screenies...

Zonewide merged heal parse

My heal breakdown

I managed to came in third in heal parse accounting for around 13% of heals while doing DPS comparable to a similarly geared guard. The parses are merged because I went LD twice, the second time on pulling Vilucidae (Ack!). As such, the guild parse might be more accurate (I still came in 3rd). Our defiler guild leader came in for 3rd attempt at Vilucidae. As usual, he topped the parse for that encounter and left everyone else by a mile.

The top two healers were a warden and inquisitor respectively. I came in third. The four healers below me were fury, mystic, fury, 65 fury.

Raid groups changed quite a bit since there were a few dropping in and out, but for the most part I was grouped with a guard, a zerker, an assasin, a necro and the 65 Fury. Yeah, we had lots of tanks that night. For a moment, I thought the raid leader was serious about doing an all tank raid.

We're doing either HoS or DT next.

Edit: Guild parse just came in...

I'm surprised to see sacrament above prayer. You must of let that 65 Fury steal all your group heals.

You weren't to far from #2... if I'm assuming correctly, your melee team was folks with around 200k dmgtaken... you could score #2 with prayer spams I bet.

...and I bump Thor's "nice job"!

Dont see why he would freak out about someone wanting to have fun and spec as a healer. But then again he was the one who tried his best to convince me paladins are a pure dps class so who knows.

Looking at that is good proof that chaining wards is the best way to make the parse. Anything that gets in the way of keeping the ward up should fall off the hotbar. ;p

I hate sacrament with a passion because of the cast time and almost feel you might get a better parse by simply minimizing the use of that thing. If your not tanking then your probably taking all your damage along with your team mates from AoE and parry. I've convinced myself that using prayer to keep yourself out of the red would help your parse and am really excited to see if it helps. Keep me posted pls. 8]
