Pick Two Qs
Hi folks. Quick question.
As a Pally, if you had to pick two classes from the Q side to level from 1 to 80 as a threesome, what would they be and why?
Any quality input would be appreciated.

Re: Pick Two Qs
You can't go wrong with:
Dirge
(great utility and wonderful to have on tap for a Paladin. folks also sometimes forget how awesome team run buffs can be for the first few tiers until you can buy a mount)
+
Templar
(divine damage with topnotch healing and debuffs that eventually gets some crowd control. With a mêlée crit AA spec wielding a huge damage spread twohander this trio would be in great shape.)
Honorable Mentions:
Dirge+Warden
Illusionist+Templar (I like that one too B)
Illusionist+Fury
Wizard+Fury
Anyway with these suggestions the three of you could see all the single group content in the game and would never need to recruit anyone.. You'd have the necessary foundation for a rock solid team so, any class could play group filler for you if you feel like making friends.
You'll want to snag a healer or you'll need to do a bunch of compensating and will struggle in some places if you don't have one. They can actually be a lot of fun to play and, contrary to popular belief, are not entirely worthless when not healing if they play their class efficiently.
I could build a case for any of the four healers available to you (Fury, Warden, Templar, Mystic) in Q honestly and depending on the class chosen for DPS/Utility I'd recommend different healers to complement them.
Generally, if you're three boxing, I'd probably choose a Mystic as shamans box the easiest imo, just don't bother spec'ing for dogdog.
Give us a little more detail and we can build you a winning combination. /salute

Re: Pick Two Qs
Illusionist/Fury
Illusionist gets so many ways to help ya with Haste, IA(25% double attack) mana regen, int buff, synergy(spell proc), time compression, good dps, oh and the ability to mezz if shit goes wrong.
Fury gives ya good heal over times to use with your wards, int/power buff for more dps, agitate which buffs str and agi and has a dps/haste proc, oh ya and they can dps well for a healer.
This trio would drop mobs quick, have little down time, and is very flexible.

Re: Pick Two Qs
Thank you for the quick responses.
These three will be played about 60% by three different people. I will be 3 boxing them the rest of the time. It really depends on when we all are available to play.
I currently have 3 accounts going. The Pally account, one account with an Illusionist and a Templar, and an account with a Troub and a Dirge on it. I have no problems deleting any of them though, as they are all around level 10.
I obviously want us to be efficient here and you guys have already responded in such a way that I feel I was heading in the right direction. Any further thoughts on this would be appreciated.
Cheers.

Re: Pick Two Qs
yea... it's not just the obvious buff compatibility with Dirges it's the little things like tracking, runbuffs, power regen, etc. that really make me dig Dirges for boxing with a Paladin. My trio was Paladin/Dirge/Templar and it worked out great until I consolidated accounts.
little offtopic: I sometimes forget how much I liked the fact that mastering run buffs ment I didn't need to bother with mounts until questing for carpets and it was nice to spend my coin on much better stuff when trudging through the low tiers for the first time.
I popped on an alt and expected all the new travel systems to nullify the hell of running around places like TS but, I've got to admit even with a great knowledge of the travel tools and splitpaw gem etc... running around without mount speed... SUX!

Re: Pick Two Qs
Illusionist will prolly give you best bang as opposed to taking dirge (or troub or coercer). Even at low levels Ill do great dps, and they have great buffs. Also, pre-specials (levels 1-52) the Illusionist doesn't suffer as much as a dirge, who don't get blade chimes and other stuff til the 50s. You'll get plenty of AAs quickly, that makes the illusionist shine.
I hate to 2 box, but I do have an illusionist that I solo levelled to 70 in EoF and raided with for about 6 months. And if I was 3 boxing, I would drag the pally and healer behind me while soloing the Illusionist...they are soloing beasts. Bards aren't going to be as useful in a boxing situation imo.
Also Ill can single target and group invis which can be convenient.
Healer slot you may want to consider fury/ warden only because they can portal you places, which is a great asset while levelling up. It's really doesn't matter squat otherwise. Warden might be good for evac if you don't do the dirge, and you can always betray later on. Evac kicks ass, you can avoid alot of needless backtracking overland. I'd look at the endgame use and enjoyability when making the healer choice because levelling up will be easy.
All in all I'd look for convenience and ease above all else. The content is pretty easy, what's going to make you move along quickly is what matters, and what you plan on doing when you are eventually maxed out.

Re: Pick Two Qs
evac is another lil perk to Dirges... see what I'm sayin?
If you score a Fury you can get group invis at a relatively low level but invis toties are so cheap and basically get eaten like drink/food I never much worry about group invis as a big selling point anymore... although, I'll admit, when I rolled my Fury the group invis was my #1 priority, until I found out how cool the class really was. I'm a big fan of Furys too...
Hell Dirge/Fury on fun factor and the combo won't fail. HoTs are pretty easy to box. Illys are too much work to box if you drive with the Paladin but swapping to the Ill main would certainly change my opinion.
You are in good shape and we're steering you right. Play the classes that you enjoy from this mixture and I'm sure you'll win EQ2
Dirge;Illusionist/Fury;Templar
(/plug again: If you want to grind AA through quests I can't talk up the runbuffs enough for your new trio.)
