Hate Transfer.
im really trying to get to the bottom of this, there have been several posts before regarding hate transfer but it is such a complex subject that im trying to find a definitive answer.
if i cant get a confirmed answer, ill try to ask a dev about it and post my response.
first, heres a list of what i know about hate transfer.
1. Amends is a level 49 spell, if you put amends on someone first (say a swashbuckler) and they put their transfer on you afterwards, it cancels out amends and uses their lower transfer about because it is a higher level spell.
2. Multiple transfers work, but at your own risk. if someone else puts their transfer on you, and then you put amends on someone else, you SHOULD gain at least up to 50% total transfer, however, if the swashbuckler's weapon procs and increases the transfer percentage, amends is canceled out and the swashbuckler new, refreshed, higher level transfer takes priority over amends and cancels it on your amends target.
3. stacking transfers on the same person work as well, if someone puts their transfer on you and you also put amends on them, it will be ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE for them to ever gain agro as long as you are generating any amount of your own threat.
4. Group transfers APPEAR to stack with amends. the cap on transfer is supposedly 50%, however, this means that if sigil of heroism is up and amends is also up, you would gain only a maximum of 9% of sigils transfer.
5. Wizard and warlock transfers may mess up amends. this is unproven, however, it seems as though agro takes a huge dip when a wizard or warlock's transfer is on you, this may be for a wide variety of reasons and is impossible to prove without much testing. it is better to be safe than sorry and ask that a sorceror does not put their transfer/power proc on you.
i suspect that group transfers and single target transfers. are on separate checks, otherwise sigil of heroism wouldent work nearly as well as it does. it should also be noted that it is impossible to apply amends onto a target who has sigil of heroism on them because amends is level 49 and sigil is level 52.
i feel like 1 of 2 things is possible.
A. transfers are all connected and are the same cap, however, the cap is on the player's side transfering TO the paladins side rather than the paladins side, meaning that the cap for the paladin isnt 50%, but is actually 250% or has absolutely no cap.
B. The cap for the paladin is 50% incoming transfer on single target and much much greater for the paladin on group transfer.
I have a feeling, from what i have heard, that B is true, however i have no way to prove this without a dev coming and telling me how it is.
some important questions come to mind regarding our tier 1 6 set bonus and the shield that trakanon drops. both of these items have group transfer effects on them, can we be sure that these effects are not marginalized or do not interfere with amends?
