BP Question

This is gonna potentially sound newb-ish but my main is a Wizard so the concepts of +defense and +parry and whatnot are generally of little consequence to me. I just got my alt Paladin to 80th and am using the Kyle Bayle's Unrest BP from last teir because of the +6 Parry on it.

The other (non-raid) BP's that I've seen in T8 seem to offer little in the way of a mitigation increase. Should I stick with Kyle Bayle's until I can get raid drops?

Again, apologies if there's another thread about this. I browsed through the first few pages and saw lots of info about T8 loot, but nothing in regards to BP's specifically I should be shooting to get.

The mitigation of the Kyle Bayle's set is going to stink against T8 mobs, so I think you are giving up way too much on the Mit front, despite the +parry.

I think there are some pretty decent quest items (jewelry) with enough +parry, +defense on them to off-set any loss.

Although not +parry, these 2 (as examples) add some defense.

Seb drop.

Needless to say, there are a couple of awesome fabled drops that would be nice in this slot.

Upgrade to a T8 BP for T8 mobs.

Mitigation from armor effectiveness is level based, so a Tier 8 BP with 500 Mitigation is more effective against a level 80 mob than a Tier 7 BP with 500 Mitigation.

If it's +slashing/crushing/piercing effects on the armor, then it's effectiveness does not change based on level. In the end, put both on and compare the resulting mitigation vs even-con opponents.

As far as parry goes, there's plenty enough non-raid items around to get your parry up to a respectable amount for T8 raiding without sacrificing mitigation.

Yeah, I'll likely never be raiding consistantly with the Paladin. We have 4 fighters that raid regularly, 3 of them plate wearers. That does mean though, that alot of fighter loot has started to rot/go to alts so at least I can get the Pally reasonably well equipped. Thanks all!

I was doing the same thing as Azrayel. Even hanging on to the same breastplate. After reading this post, I upgraded everything to low 70's Legendary and MC gear. It's a huge difference. Good question and good info. Thank ya.

I enjoy grouping with people that have alts outside of zones, and if certain gear drops, they offer a pp for it, (in my case, i was tanking and a scout alt wanted the something of impetous strikes or something, so he offered everyone in the group a pp for it to let him loot it). Try that, you might get the breastplate of Sanctification/ravaged onslsaught.
