Default Level 75 averaging 500 dps, this can't be right

Risking the flames I am sure will ensue.

This is mostly for soloing/grouping, getting into a raid is not high enough priority in my life to go to any extreme measures.

With that said, I am thinking I should be STR/STA/INT and knock out WIS. I am down wraths.

I am now up to questing in KJ, but with 500 dps sometimes as high as 700 for a fight, and it spikes to 1200. I also 'save' consecrate for when i get in trouble and that is a big portion of dps i know.

Anyway, any suggestions are appreciated. I have been wondering since my STR is over soft cap, might I be better using emerald jewelery and puching my WIS/INT up? Evening going with some of the 'caster' gear and getting +damage. I am close to running instances with guildees to get some of that stuff like nathsar short swrd etc.

soloing it is very hard to break 1k

Best things to increase yur damage are:

+ DPS
+ Crits
+ DA
+ Haste

Then you get onto str/+spell/+CA which add ghardly anything... but the big few increasers are above... in the order I think seems to benefit myself more... first things first tho you need a DAMN good werapon as (includinmg procs) on average 60%-709% of our damage is autoattack so get a decent 1hander and a great two hander and try again

I rank upgrades as follows:

DPS > DA > Melee Crit > Spell crit

You want our DPS and Haste to approach 125 then you start seeing the diminishing returns kick in. Having more doesn't hurt but at 125 if it's a DPS mod vs something else decision, something else might be more beneficial depending on actual values of the mods.

I rank DA over Melee Crit because each DA point is 1 additional attack per 100 attacks, and it might or might not crit, so the damage value of a DA is equivalent to 1 attack + the damage from your percent chance to crit.

Melee crit on the other hand, 1% basically gives you 1 melee crit per 100 attacks, which at best will double your melee damage for that attack.

In the end, melee crit and DA are very close I would say and fairly interchangeable one to the other. However, with poorer critting weapons, DA might be more valuable.

CA and Spell damage helps too, CA probably more than spell damage, but don't drop DPS mod, DA, Melee crit for them, IMO.

Haste in general won't get very high solo buffed since most haste items don't stack, but it's the easiest to get buffed in a group or raid.

Combat arts also crit based upon your melee crit value. When soloing most of your damage is going to come from your CAs, then your spells. When grouping most of your damage is going to come from a combination of CAs and melee damage. When raiding, long fights, a larger percentage of your damage will come from melee damage, so DA and DPS and crits will shine the most.

Spell crits easy to get with int line, haste easy to get with str line, melee crit you can bolster with sta line. Keep in mind spell crits increase most proc crits.

So what is most difficult for a paladin to obtain? Straight DPS.

Also diminishing returns kicks in at 100% for haste and DPS. At 200% displayed in each value it is equivalent to 125% actual bonus. 125% displayed value is 106.25% actual bonus.

What's the crit dmg bonus on CAs, 30%? Or is that just with spells? Never can remember these numbers. :P
