Default Re: Tank gear

The way i look at it is there comes a point where you have everything on farm pretty much and your healers are better geared etc. and you can easily go for more dps oriented tank gear than maybe what you could have used on the first trip into VP for example. Like last night i picked Trak up on two different occasions when our tank got unlucky knockbacks and i was in full offensive with a two hander and only a fury in my group. If i can do that in dps oriented tank gear then im gonna keep all that max def and parry stuff in the bags. Hell i cant remember the last time i used my actual "MT" gear. Max def and parry is nice but I think its better to find a nice balance between the defensive and offensive.

Hands: Restorative Stitching - +45 Heal ammount

Is that honestly the best adornment for our Hands?

The usual ... do instance runs till your mind melts and get in every pickup raid you'll see thta'll accept a paladin :P

Maidens drop perhaps the best shoulders for a Pally.

Also get all the uncontesated gear you can get your grubby little paws on; near 70% self buffed avoid is out there providing you get a decent shield

are the instance sets worth getting, or should I be looking at something higher from the instances? I'd only run CoA (I think that is what it is called) twice and part of Chelsith before I retired

Jalathan, instance runs are worth it until you can upgrade with gear from raids, and even then some of the instance gear is better than some of the raid zone gear. The instance sets themselves are better than nothing until you get some better gear to drop elsewhere or do some raiding.

For example, the fighter cloak from Runny Eye the Gathering is the best you'll see until Trakanon. The Mantle of the Jarsath Tribe (fabled that can drop off Drusella in MC) is better than you'll see for a while as well. It's good for tanking and for DPS.

Incarnadine Earring (legendary off Queen in Chardok) and Shackles of the Court (named Warden in CoK) are both good for tanking.

There's the mastercrafted neck slot item for tanking (2% riposte/parry IIRC), and also the wrist/ring fabled off the final named in Runny Eye the Gathering.

Also there's some quested gear good for raiding. The boots from JW quest series are only a slight downgrade from Trampler's Boots out of PR.

Shoot me a tell at Unrest.Tharinor if you need any help.

Get the Armguards from Chelsith and never go back. I truly hate that stupid, stupid place.

I just use Honorbound Vambraces...much easier to get it seems and more fun than Chelsith. ;)
