Default Raid advice

Sup guys, new to the forum. Been a troll for awhile, but now decided to post. I just wanna ask for any advice when raid tanking (Pls none of this recruit a guard nonsense). I can tank T1 fairly well, but still get 1 shotted everynow and then.

aa lines is
int 4-4-8
str 4-8-8-6-2
sta 4-4-8-8-2
(played around with wis line.... kinda shitty for my guy imho)
hero, wrath line specced all the way.

I usually ward myself, ask for aoe prevent or santuary, divine aura (pos) etc on pull.
MT grp is

ME(pally)
templar
defiler
warden
dirge
Coercer

Should I be casting my pos death prevent on myself too? anything would be helpful.. thanks. also its not the gear.... soulfire, grn dragon sheild, all fabled/legendary (most with uncontested block/ripostes) all adorned. food, and drink is the +2.2 parry types.

AA seems alright, little tip, when you see the Divine favor has proced, manually cancel it, you have received the heal you can just remove the negative effect.

Way to "stop" getting once shotted: increase your health and incvrease your uncontested avoidance... after that its in the healera ansd thew RNG hands.

Also you cna prob loose the warden and put in a swash or any steady high dps toon for most if not all of T1-3 encounters; the loss of the warden from the MT group is not an issue you'll have if you're temp and defiler are any good.

I have tanked all of VP with the following setup:

448 STR STA WIST INT
Hero / Wraths

Defiler
Templar
Coercer
Dirge
Assassin

It really comes down to your healers, because no matter how you put your AA's you really have no control over your survivability other than to increase your block % and spam your ward

My HP self buffed is about 12.5k... so i think im doing alright... guess its up to my healers then. Damn. just thought there was something I was missing..... hopefully we'll get a slight boost in the upcoming exp... though i wont hold my breath. One last thing though to boli's point, since we dont mitigate our dmg as well as guards, wouldnt leaving a 3rd healer in the group help me stay up... or it doesnt really matter at that point. Thanks.

warden's don't mitigate damage they only heal what you have taken so work as well outside the group as in it.

Only advice I would give is make sure your Templar is spec'd shield ally, with parry % adorns on wrist and eating the same food as you, with a high protection shield.

Also, make sure another fighter with high avoidance is blocking on you, a monk will stop many hits but another plate tank is okay if you have one in the raid. IIRC avoidance report would usually show 20% from the monk on our MT in the early days of RoK

Sounds like you are doing fine if you are just getting into first couple of tiers of RoK. When everyone had old gear and just started raiding RoK 9 months ago tanks would get 1-shotted or 2-shotted by mobs like Overking that are now considered chumpy, and now VP bosses will not kill a tank when you all have epics and are geared out.

The 1-shot and the double attack of death are kind of the basis for RoK raids.
