Can anyone test this and let me know pls.

also has anyone been able to test the cap? I can only hit 49% shield block modifier and cant test that either : (
They stack, also I'm pretty sure enough gear hasnt been discoed yet to test and see what the se cap is

If it is possible that SE stacks with it self (SE:I + SE:I etc.) and depending on if there is a SE cap or how high it is...
Look at this setup.. no raiding involved at all.

Holy Warrior Shoulders + Boots + Helm
8% Spell/CA Base Damage
16 DPS, 5 Crit Mit
2 Double Attack, 2 Melee Crit
120 Spell/CA
+3 Defense
(3) SE:III +15% Protection
Void Knight Gloves + Legs + Chest
38 Haste, -3% Cast time All Spells
5 Melee/Spell/Heal Crit
5 Crit Mit
3% Physical Damage Reduction
+10 Defense, +4 Parry
Stone Tower Jewelery Set (Ear + Wrist + Cloak)
+1 DA, +10 Parry, +9 Defense
+164 Mitigation
(3) SE:II +10% Protection
Throw in the shield from The Crucible:
+7 Parry
+3 Melee/Spell Crit
SE:III +15% Protection
1514 Protection
Add in AA SE Bonuses: +24%, +15%

Base + SE:II + Hero + SE:III + SE:III + AA = Base + 79%
1514 + 151.4 + 363.36 + 227.1 + 227.1 + 227.1 = 2710.06

So without raiding a single time.. a level 80 paladin who spends the time to get all those shards can have:

2710 Protection
+8% Spell Crit, +10% Melee Crit
+22 Defense, +21 Parry
20% Critical Mitigation (10% Base, 10% gear)
3% Damage Reduction
8% Base Spell / CA Damage
38 Haste
3% faster casting for all Spells

Still leaves 1 forearm, 2 rings, 1 earring, 1 neck, 1 wrist, 1 waist, and 2 charm slots open for additional gear as well.

I think you're going to want to have the critical mitigation though. Not everything can be protected against with a shield, and unless it was explained to me incorrectly, which is entirely possible, crit mit is not just for melee, but also for spells/abilities that are not affected by avoidance.

If you are not raiding you don't need Crit Mit gear........

No, but at the same time if you're not raiding you don't need a huge amount of shield effectiveness either. You'd be better off building a more offensive set of gear and grouping with non-sucky healers. ;)

As for SE cap, I'm not sure there is one and if there is, it's likely 100%. I believe this to be the case because of Fyrewhateverhisnameis making a big stink about all the SE on items and nerfing them down to +mit instead. If SE capped at 50% or something, he'd have worded his reasoning for nerfing the items differently. He basically said something along the lines that people were able to reach near 100% SE and they didn't want that to happen. TBH, if there was a cap at 50%, I doubt they would even care to change the items as it wouldn't be considered overpowering then.

I wish I didnt have to wear crit mit gear already. I miss my vp 4 set badly, and even though the new 4 set is nice espcially since its effecting wards, the lack of da on the new set peices is disturbing.

The new 4 set bonus is crap. They probably decided to remove DA when they replaced our haste with DA. *shrugs*

If you mean....

Its crappy our 4 set bonus isnt a uber selbuff like 10% DA/MC/SC.

Then yes I agree with you.

But if you are saying a 10% base heal bonus and 3% base spell/ca dmg buff is crap...

Then I dont agree with you.

Default Re: TSO Shields?

If you want to buff a healer, do it with their set bonus, not ours. We get nothing from that 4 set bonus whatsoever.

The reason it's crap is because if you're MTing, you are never going to use Resolute Faith because some other fighter class will be putting their avoidance buff on you and they don't stack.

If you're not MT, and you're not putting it on the MT (iow, some other fighter class is putting theirs on the MT), then sure, you can put it on some healer or something. But then, how the hell does that help you at all? It doesn't, your 4 set bonus now instead of helping you is helping some healer so it's like they got a super uber extra 4 set bonus while you got jack shit. If you're putting it on the MT instead of someone else, then unless they are a Paladin or SK, then it's not going to do jack shit for them.

Most of us feel it's a stupid 4 set bonus here because of how the avoidance buffs are used. Made no sense at all to put that shit on our gear, and why the fuck are they upgrading a buff with our 4 set bonus that in no way shape or form buffs us, and instead buffs someone else.
