Speaking of aggression, anyone ever noticed that between offensive and defensive stances, your taunts seem to get resisted more in defensive despite having more aggression?

Aggression should help with resistability, just like Disruption/Subjugation/etc do. Divine mitigation decrease should have two effects. Should lower innate resistability of the target, and lower the mitigation of that type of damage. There's been a lot of argument in the past as to whether spell mitigation actually had any effect on resistability or not, and if so, just how much. Dunno if that question was ever answered in detail.

Either way, it's like comparing Slashing vs Avoidance + Physical Mitigation. There's two sides you have to look at, except in this case, the avoidance and mitigation appear to be combined into one statistic rather than separated out into different avoidance types.

I think this is one of the most frustrating things about us tanking with our taunts. On paper, a large chunk of aggression should allow us to be virtually unresisted on our taunts, but once you try to taunt a orange conned mob(especially of the X4 variety) the detriments are much greater than the positives of high aggression.

Aerilik is talking about his phase 2 changes and how much larger the taunts will be to help compensate his changes to hate transfers. If he doesnt do a overhaul on taunt resists, it will be as worthless as many other ideas he has come up with in the past. We will lose steady hate from a transfer and gain spike hate from taunts that may or may not get resisted irregardless of how we stack aggression and stances. His talk of changing how buffs intereact with stances are another troubling facet of the upcoming change imo.

So far all i have read on the topic makes me frustrated, as there is nothing on test and very vague posts in the forums. His statement on agro changes effects all 24 classes not just the fighter archetypes he mentions.

In the future, it would be nice that if he changes taunt numbers, he reworks Exhoriation to not only debuff divine but increase the taunt value of taunts by the debuff value(ie 40% bonus while duration is in effect). He needs to eliminate resists on taunts(probably uses spell resist mechanics similar to any hostile spell currently) or make it to where aggression skill is uncontestable skill that will not be modified by color con or epic tag and reduces the resist chance down to a very small chance.

So here is a stupid question for you ... if I Taunt, and mob A resists, why does he still come after me? Hello? Resist? That means he should just keep on walkin'.
Talk to the hand.

It is the same principle of a the clerical "soothe" ability. Technically it is not causing 1 point of hate from the effects(no numerical hate detaunt or debuff or damage component), but if a cleric has a resist on the spell the mob can come after the cleric. If the mob resists on clarion, the fact we tried to toss a hostile effect is enough to agro the mob, we just dont recieve the taunt number of a unresisted taunt. In the case of Exhoriation, the mob may have the taunt hit, but resist the debuff.
