Default Question about tanking

In groups/raids, the key thing I'm worried about is the fact that Paladins are now single-target tanks. The reason I'm worried about this is because it seems like it will be harder to keep aggro in a group because we have to use our taunts on individuals.

I'm wondering, how will we do in groups at endgame content and will we be useless in raids?

My reccomendations for groups and multi content when it goes live is have trample. Have 8 points in Idolic Axe. Have 5 points in circular smite. If available have 5 in Consumate defender and have 5 points in Gallantry and take it from there. If you find holding agro easy then you can take points out of them and move them back to more dps or whatever you want.

On quick dying mobs target the strongest in group and use that as a basis to killing them.

On slow dying groups start on the strongest cast clarion or faithfull cry if available on them and then tab target to a weaker one and kill the weaker ones first.

For raids don't bother with trample go for more tank abilities as normal but in most cases you will be better going for 8 in idolic axe at the expense of dps.

Learn the spells that now have a hate component, the kick now has one, and circular smite has one. Use excoriation and circular smite early in your spell rotation.


Just a basis. Everyone should pick up the new way after a group zone or less tbh.

It is waay better than the crutch that is amends btw. The only gripe I have so far is that I want more defencive capability and want the joke that is the 4 set for TSO changing.

Consumate defender = increases def stance, crap on live at the mo but increases def parry and aggression on test, agression increases taunts on test.

Didnt mean to double post.
Gallantry = increases the base and critical threat of taunt spells by 10% (with 5 points) - this is on test. On live it increases base only.
