Re: What is the best possible group makeup for a Paladin?
troubs are not better for you than dirges.. but they still do ok for a crusader if you're stuck without one.. more spell crit, spell skills, casting speed, and haste.. i prefer the melee skills and dps and of course battlecry from a dirge since a troub will amost always give his buff to a mage/fury.. upbeat tempo i believe

First I couldn't claim that Troubadors are necessarily better for Paladins than Dirges, I just like to think that we're better suited for them than we are for most tank classes. Off the top of my head we can offer casting speed, haste, power regeneration, defense and mitigation, crits, strength and stamina, casting skill, damage proc on hostile spells, nonfighter hate reduction, faster dots, faster reuse speed, and resists (that probably isn't complete). Some are aa abilities that are always up, some are songs that can change depending on circumstances, and some are abilites that are used and have to be recast.
What you ask for would depend on what you think you need, but I would usually ask for power regeneration, defense and mitigation, haste, damage proc on hostile spells, and nonfighter hate reduction. I would also ask for Jester's Cap (reduces reuse time by 45%) before each named fight to help establish aggro and time compression if they have it (it's a TSO AA), I personally don't yet

ahh, good to know... time compression is always demanded by the healers. I have lived without that just fine, but jesters cap on the pull is a must for hard nameds, no doubt. thanks for the info.

Re: What is the best possible group makeup for a Paladin?
Yep, got that, but sounded like he was saying troub's have it as well, but it makes more sense now.
What class is driving our single melee hit so high? I have my points in melee crit/double attack, and working on DA gear, but last night I hit a 9,200 slash with my epic. Never hit that high before, what combination of "coercer/swashbuckler/fury/defiler/inquisitor" is doing that? I want more Seems after chatting with the inquisitor that they have some divine damage debuff as well, which would make sense. Asking lots of questions in group chats and surfing other classes forums to get some good info. I only have the one 80 Paladin, so learning him to the max is my only goal. That 9,200 slash hit was cool. skipped the 8k mark all together, and now, I WANT 10K

well naneeje.. for one.. you need to have you str near or at capped.. you need to have your dps near or at capped.. and you need the mobs mit debuffed.. a coercer/dirge will get your dps close.. and a brig/inq will get that mit debuffed to that point

Re: What is the best possible group makeup for a Paladin?
tbh personally i don't run that scout oriented groups, usually looks something like this:
Paladin
Troubador
Templar / Inquisitor
Defiler
Wizard
Conjuror / Coercer / Illusionist / Swashbuckler
atleast thats my usual setup when doing something like palace of ferzhul, for easier stuff i kick out either defiler or templar / inq and usually bring in a chanter or swash instead.
however i'd say the "Best" group (for single target) would be:
Paladin
Inquisitor
Brigand
Illusionist
Dirge
Troubador

Re: What is the best possible group makeup for a Paladin?
For tanking (on a raid) the best group setup is
Dirge, Templar, Defiler, Coercer, Assassin/Brig
For DPS the best setup is:
Illy, Coercer, Dirge, Troubador, Inquisitor
