I start out with bow if appropriate for the situation, verdict as im bringing it range or moving it, then as soon as its in range, excoriation and then click click wait click click wait click click wait ... (wait is placeholder of autoattack.. it shouldnt be much of a wait, infact when you get used to it you should see a steady stream of numbers unless your missing lots)

I think auto attack timing really depends upon your weapon. As long as you can get your hasted speed down into increments of .8 seconds (assuming you have STR line, otherwise 1.0) its much more effective to spam unless you have your mythic or something. Of course, if you have an icky hasted weapon delay then it might be worthwhile to time, however I've found that more often than not trying to time will often make you lose dps.

So yeah just shoot for 1.6, 2.4, 3.2....
