I've seen this with our dirge as well. She uses signet, but I'm not convinced that is it. I have actually watched the hate bar go from 100% and 50% the next highest late into a fight to aggro on dirge. I can't pin down what it is, but I think it has something to do with stoneskins. Aggro meter is pretty nice for trying to test this stuff out, but I haven't put much time into it.

Stupid item is broken and its aggro generation is wayyyyy higher than the description says. So it's probably the origin of your problem as others posters said.

Yeah our dirges and troubs get aggro from time to time, easy enough to snap back though. Or like someone else said, you can keep letting them die until they take off the Signet...
