Re: Why does SOE hate pallies?
As long as paladins keep amends, they will always be desirable. Dont get me wrong, I really enjoy playing my SK, but if I had known they would be keeping Amends this long I probably would not have betrayed. As I see it, SKs have only 2 advantages over paladins. One is the AA group buff enhancement for 10%cast 10%recast which actually gives them some decent utility. And the other is shadowknights furor, the 15sec riposte. In comparison, paladins get amends and faithful cry. That's pretty much it, the dps differential is not nearly as large as the eq2flames community makes it out to be. Perhaps SKs have a slight advantage, but the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.
I think its a large stretch to claim "eq2 devs hate paladins" when there are so many other classes in worse shape. (Summoners, brawlers, druids) TSO was great for BOTH crusaders, and both are now on equal terms with guards. If any plate tank has a right to complain, its zerkers.

wat :|
This thread makes my brain hurt. Are you trying to tell me I'm not playing the most capable, versatile tank in the game? I might be a decent player winning with crappy cards? Blasphemy, and begone with you.
And zerkers are fine, jerk. They do over 9000k DPS as is on encounter DPS fights.

Re: Why does SOE hate pallies?
Amends is unfort the only reason high end guilds still use pallys... but to be brutally honest I rarely use it these days when OTing -there is such a thing as too much agro sometimes :/

Re: Why does SOE hate pallies?
more like "two many frigging linked encounters in the game right now means I might as well tank the lot or drop amends :P"

The difference between holy ground and sacrament is a little more than that.
Sacrament procs everytime the mob is hit by anybody. So basically in a raid its always on for the duration. Holy ground procs when you land something on the mob. You can have holy ground up and the mob could shift off of you between autoattacks/cas/spells. In a raid setting with say a huge aoe set, its way more likely that a mob will get loose with holy ground up than Sacrament.
I can give you an example.
SK has all the mobs on him and Sacrament is up. Say i want to take a mob away to off tank it. I will pop holy ground then hit the mob, it will be on me, so i step back to try to move it, the second anything else touches it, bam back on the SK. Pretty much Sacrament > all for aggro lockdown.
But the recast on holy ground is a lot shorter, especially if you put AA points into. I think Holy Ground is great and works fine but I wouldn't exactly say that its just like Sacrament, cause it's a little different.

I can't really argue with you here, since you're 100% correct, but they do work in the same sense that once cast the mob\s is\are basically not going anywhere, which is what I meant to say in the first place...

bro, i dont agree with you here on the zerker part.
We have zerkers in our guild/raid force that just fucking hit like a damn macktruck ran over you and backed up and did it again.
We play ona PvP server and what I have heard is that on PvP toons ( same level gear, aa etc) arent as strong as on PvE but still, these zerkers in PvE and PvP. damn.
by the way i got a 80 pally on vox and i cant keep up at all with these 2 zerkers in hate or dps.
but it does seem like somewhat of a disadvantage between sks and pallys,
