I am currently working on a set of ranged gear for when not tanking and only for single targets. (For AE I'd move in and use trample).
Because from my expierences, I parse much higher using a bow than a 2h (Star Darkened Longbow vs Sword of Sky )

So atm I tend to use symbol of mysthic etchings for 15 dps. Or would buckler of the howler be better? And well as a full set of proc/int gear. And I'll probably pick up some chain gear with +ranged or ranged crit on it, such as the leaf rot wrists from treah.

However, I'm still wondering about which weapon to use? There seem to be many weapons that proc off ranged (ice forged, claymore reward, rapier) but are there any usable by paladins?

Anyother items out there that would greatly help bow skills? Any other paladins try this yet? (Probably not looking at anything too crazy that would take away from the scouts, as I rarely play dps being that I have a well geared conj and illu to play when dps is needed. But it never hurts!)

Interesting way to do things. Make sure you add a +10 dps adornment to your bow. The only thing I do is use the arrows with +30% to hit. I only do that because we don't have a lot of gear with +range and I'm not bidding on any jewelry with such. Since we have a very limited number of Spells/CA's that are range I don't know how you could parse higher.

Maybe with Wuoshi bow? I know the auto attack damage from that sum bitch, is hot as hell.

Plus I am not sure if they fixed it, but I know at the launch of eof I was hitting pretty much everything with like 50/350 ranged, so not sure the +ranged is really going to make that big of a deal.

Yeah, I use crafted arrows over legendary summoned arrows sadly enough. Also with the 100% crit proc on SDLB it out parses the Woushi bow for me. Running at 34 DPS solo with 32 haste, usually grouped with a troub and/or an illu. So haste can jump up to 150ish depending.

The biggest thing a bow does is allow us to use more abilities. If you have a short delay 2Her, then using abilities like brimestone on singles is just unfeasable. But With a bow you can auto attack, brimstone, auto attack and not loose anything. Similar combos with our CAs (just remeber to switch back to bow after hitting a CA)

what kind of numbers are u actually putting up? with sword of valor and a decent group id be surprised if a bow would put up better numbers.

If you can get one of the bows from DT for the viscid globs those are better than most arrows out there besides tenders.

Crasfted arrows parse much higher than DT arrows for me, because of hit ratio.

Yeah for a pld in particular the crafted ones should actually do better based on the fact that we have nothing that gives us +ranged unless you get some chain gear or something like that. You can have the best dmg arrows around but they dont so a thing unless they actually hit the mob. Maybe with dirge buffs you could hit stuff decent with the DT arrows but still thats only what like 25ish give or take to your ranged skill thats not gonna be that great for hit % since your skill will still be around 375 or so depending on what the skill buff gives

Now from my parsing....

A bow will parse higher if:
Single target
More DPS than haste
You can time CAs/spells between auto attacks
You can get +ranged skills (warden etc)

A 2Her will parse higher if:
Multiencounter (if trample)
More haste than DPS
A proc buffer (Temp, Dirge, etc)
You cant time CAs/spells (because of lag or whatever)
If you have melee procs (from wiz, fury, dirge etc)

All the melee weapons that proc off ranged (Iceforged, 628, Claymore) will stop proccing on range as of the next update.
