So I go to Varsoon in search of some PVP action (I'm level 32 on my SK and defiler atm, I two box them).

And shortly after I enter, this level 49 fucking idiot Laaf starts following me around, staying within 2 feet of me. Eventually I forget he's there and use an AE, which apparently catches him and makes me targetable. So he kills me, not much I can do against a level 49.

This shit continues on for over another hour. Apparently this idiot has nothing better to do than grief lower level players. However, I became very careful and stopped using AEs, which seemed to make him mad.

I attacked this other guy and had him at under 10 percent, would have killed him easily, then Laaf comes up behind and kills me:






Of course, the fag who couldn't kill me on his own finally stopped running and teabagged my corpse after Laaf killed me:



Now, here's my question:

How the fuck did I become targetable to Laaf when I was PVPing a toon only 2 levels above me? Can a higher level player group with a lower level player to grief other lower level players? I GUARANTEE I wasn't using AEs when this happened, and didn't mistarget Laaf.

BTW, I didn't lose fame on the kill or drop a chest.

If the dude you were killing was grouped with Laaf (as it looks like he might have been from the heroic tag on Laaf) then yes, he could kill you.

Basically look for 2 things when engaging in PvP:
1. Heroic Tag
2. 'Aggro' red outline

If a player is tagged heroic and doesnt have a red outline then he is grouped with a higher level player and therefor cannot initiate combat with you (he could of course be immune at a rev spot also). In which case you can pretty much ignore him.

I have had my ass beat on a few occasions by higher level players grouped with lower level ones.

I assume these are the guys who can't actually beat chars in their own level range. The helmet wearers of PvP.

Something else you might try looking for.
If the person has an up arrow, as did the guy in your pics, it usually means he's grouped with someone in the higher level range.
