Ok, I have 3 70+ toons. A 72 Assasin, 70 Defiler and 70 Bruiser. I also have a high 60's Fury. All are fun to play, and I'm fairly competent at each of them. I need help selecting the one toon I'm going to invest the time and effort in to get to 80. Obviously, I'm leaning towards the Assasin at the moment, purely because of track/stealth/evac and being fairly good at him in pvp. But, guilds and pvp/exp groups love my defiler who is "officially" my main - but, he doesn't have the proper tools to survive RoK solo like the assasin and bruiser. And the bruiser is just plain fun, but gets rolled by groups fairly regularly without track and evac... Really, it feels like I just dinged 60 in SS again on all these toons and have to grind through the gank me levels again since I've evidently missed the boat on hitting 80 early. Any suggestions on who I should max out first is appreciated.

Hi Locus!

Your post describes things very accurately. Of course your guild wants you to level the toon which will get rolled in PvP constantly, because it is somewhat rare, and a very useful PvE class.

The question is - do you enjoy playing a defiler enough to get over the fact that you are free fame and tokens for everyone that catch you solo? Do you enjoy him enough to accept that you will probably always need someone else to group with to get anything done and stand a chance in PvP? If the answer is yes, go with the defiler. You will at least have no trouble getting groups and raidspots.

If you want to PvP though, and be able to solo fairly well - choose the assassin. Not the bruiser - because as you said, he will get rolled by groups too. The assassin is also great for PvE, so you might actually get the best of both worlds.

hm... i just spent about an hour sitting LFG on my assasin... during "prime time". so i rolled out to RoK for a little solo pvp hunting. got ganked twice, evac'ed about a dozen times from full groups, and ganked about 4 people trying to harvest/quest... then, i logged on defiler and got 6 unsolicited group invites within 5 minutes. declined them all and rolled out to RoK to pvp a little. Died a good 12 times. Each started out as a 1v1, but it took so long for me to do any damage that I ended up just getting rolled by people jumping in to the fights. The 2 kills I got were when a group saw the fight I had been engaged in for 5 or so minutes and then jumped in, finished off my prey and ninja looted my chest/token. LOL I can't even solo pvp when I solo pvp.

defiler is a beast in group pvp. if you like to solo for tokens pick asasin: good gank class
bruiser is something in between: wonderful ganker of illusionists, gotta love him

Ok, so after a couple days of play which was a mixture of awesome fun and sheer boredom, I decided that the best class for me, overall, is probably the defiler. Now I just gotta find somoene who needs a defiler bad enough to hold my hand through all the stupid grind-up quests, cause it's darn near impossible to solo in RoK zones these days as a FP.

assassin will be easy leveling with track and as you level you can probably rack up ATLEAST 200 tokens towards your first pvp piece

I've been playing my bruiser a lot, because, hands down he is the best at questing solo - which, unfortunately, is sort of how you have to do it in the new zones. Something about the mixture and length of the quest lines makes it impossible to find anyone who is on the same parts of the same quests you are at any give time... Anyway, after looking at all the quest and loot drops I've gotten by running the KP and Fens quests, I notice everything seems to be leather gear with int and wis + some nice spell damage or + heal procs. Is ROK the Fury expansion or something? It's making me rethink my decision and dust off my first main, my Fury...

By the way, I think I've given up on the defiler for the moment. Doesn't seem to be able to do much pvp-wise, which is why I play in the first place.
