Default Locket of Escape completely broken

Title explains it all.

Remember a few LU's ago, a bug was implemented where everything you did put you into combat if you were attacked in PVP? So if you get attacked and you hit the stealth button to stealth away, it engages you. Or if you get attacked and you use a see stealth totem, it engages you in combat? People say this was done on purpose, but there was NEVER any patch notes on this, so until I see otherwise, I will continue to insist it's a bug that has never been addressed, or fixed.

Either way, this bug they created makes the Locket of Escape completely broken and useless. If you're not engaged, and somebody attacks you, and you try to use the locket to get away, it ENGAGES you and puts you into combat, and it ALSO gets consumed. So basically it's a death trap. It kills you, then disappears from your inventory, so the 100,000 status you spent on it goes completely down the drain.

I've petitioned and also sent Aeralik and Hartsman PM's regarding the issue, and haven't received a response from anybody. My petition was filed on Monday the 19th, and I still have yet to receive a reply.

My suggestion- Remove the locket completely from PVP servers, OR just fix it. But you can't let people waste 100,000 status on it when it's completely broken in its current form.

Thanks for posting this Kruhl, I have petitioned it as well, but it was a couple months ago. Still haven't fixed it tho, I can get a use out of it every so often however... like seeing a big group way off in the distance lolz.
Edit: oh yeah, they don't even seem to have to actually hit you with anything, someone can just have their auto attack on from afar and it still breaks it. I have had this happen before also.

Hey bud, I'm not trying to give you a hard time but:

A ton of stuff never makes the patch notes. That doesn't mean it wasn't intended. It just means it didn't get into the patch notes.

The Locket of Escape is an evac which takes you back to your bind point, and like evac itself, it should not put you into combat when you try to use it. The description on the item reads: "If able to zone during pvp combat" This would imply that it is in fact broken if you use the item while this statement is still true yet it does not work.

Correct. This bug, (or feature), made the locket of escape completely broken. Fix it, or remove it. But leaving it for sale in its broken form is negligent at best.

It is in fact more broken the expressed here. I used one with no enemies around to get back home simply cuz my call was down and I was lazy (plus I had 13plat on me) and it was consumed and I never went anywhere.

Look at this outrageous GM response to my petition for the escape locket I lost. Keep in mind the escape locket is broken, and any GM or Dev can go try it out themselves and confirm that it's broken.

However, we do not refund or reimburse pvp status for this reason. There is simply no way to confirm when and how the locket was used by you and that leaves us in a situation where we would be interfering with the natural hierarchy and dynamics of the status pvp economy as it were. We simply cannot rely on the petition system and the information contained therein as a means for which we would consider altering the system in place. We require logs and the confirmation of issues. But PVP by it's very nature is a risk and when you are out in enemy territory potions and items can fail and that is a fact of the way the game is played.
