Hes right though, thats all it takes for both. You would get a more accurate reply in much less time just by asking a chat channel in game tbh. But I feel up to it, so i'll breifly explain it to you.
Their are no exact numbers that any players have, that would exactly explain anything that goes on in the fame/title system. I can tell you that a fame loss is the only thing thats constant, no matter how u lost it, be it to a raid or to three people - doesn't seem to matter. It's relatively equal to the fame gain of solo killing a player with the same title as you, given he had full life and nobody else hit them. You can only receive fame from a player with a title one level above or below your own and of course one with your own title as well. It gets harder to attain a new title as you work your way up the ladder, for two reasons. One, players get more stingy with their fame as they have higher titles. And two, it takes more fame hits each title to reach a new one. The titles go in this order, from first to last:
Hunter, Slayer, Destroyer, Champion, Dreadnaught, General, Master, and Overseer.
The pvp equipment is very straight forward, you kill people. The people you kill drop these things called tokens. When you have enough you turn in the tokens for a peice of pvp equipment in Lesser Faydark for t7, and Kylong Plains for t8. Visit the merchants ahead of time to figure out how many tokens you need for the peice you want.
