remove the fame system entirely. just do it. it has gayed up enough of the PvP dynamics that it really can't get any worse with it gone.

or, like i proposed a long time ago, allow people to choose to opt out of it. introduct a /nofame option that resets your fame to 0, locks it there, and prevents you or anyone else from gaining or losing fame in PvP combat with you. the flag is toggleable, but only once a month. when you type it in a window pops up explaining exactly what's going to happen, and gives you a confirmation window to retype your name (like exiling or deleting a character). and then also introduct a /hidefametitles command that does what LFG explained above... hides everyone elses title that still has one.

eventually everyone that's not a complete fame whore will gravitate towards locking their fame and just PvPing for the sake of... well... killing other people. you guys do realize that there are entire genres (FPS's) where people have PvP'd for many, many years without titles, right? they only recently started addings "ranks" and shit to console/PC based FPS; the genre was wildly successful even back when you just logged in and ran around killing people for hours at a time.

they'll never get rid of fame entirely, and in a way thats a good thing imo, pvp would'nt be the same for me or the people i play with, if fame wasnt an issue when we fight.
but i do know something has to change... at least to make it more fun, the other night my group pvper from about 11pm gmt till about 8 in the morning with hardly any break..
we found like 1 group that was willing to fight.. it was insurrections grp of masters, after they got smashed, they spent the rest of the night evacing, as did every other fp and exile grp on the server, its boring, people wont fight cos they know they will lose fame /yawn

but the truth is if you have a high title people wont fight you. and its too hard to keep dropping your title all the time so people will, because its sooo easy to be general in 2 days its retarded.

the reason people wont fight is because they can "Lose" their fame, if they didnt see "your death has decreased your infamy" people would fight
