Default Aeralik, Please look into taking EVAC off PvP servers, and REACH removed from PvP

Title says it all. I think removing REACH from a class with three snares, awesome temps, and a MEZ (wtf?) would do a ton to balance PvP encounters. Actually swashy would still be top dog, but they would need to use strategies similiar to Assassins and brigs.

As for evac, I think we all know why this has no place on a PvP server.

Hey he is on here, he'll read it, and people will probably discuss it in this thread. Do I think he'll post a response? No I don't, but I'm 100% sure it will be read, and will spawn input from other players.

Are devs unapproachable? Again I don't expect a response, but hopefully it will be a catalyst for a discussion from PvPers about the two points I mentioned. Evac, and it's place on a PvP server, and REACH, when engaged in a PvP encounter. Aeralik is obviously the man who is most responsible for changes in PvP.

Yes, I know exactly what it's for. The purpose of evac on my SK is to escape from deep red players with a 12 level advantage or more who abuse their power by attacking me while I'm fighting mobs, just because they can.

Please DO NOT remove evac from PVP unless you fix the reasons why I need it.

I don't want to see evac removed simply for the fact that I mainly use it on my SK as a means of travel lol

Taking evac off PvP will reduce PvP imo as it will vastly reduce solo/small group pvp.

It will give the gank grps more targets to kill and them more reason to grief people.

There will be less fair-ish fights (1 vs 1 etc).. due to there being a lot less solo players.

Fix infamy and some of these problems will not be as bad, but still. A lot less people will leave the city without a grp.

Summary: This imo will reduce pvP = not good for pvp as a whole

P.S. I believe this request has come from you because you are a group orientated class frustrated with people evac'ing from you (when youa re grp'd). If you want evac, start a scout or grp with one. That's what i do when I want another utility like heals/buffs.

As much as I hate to admit it, I agree with Dankshasta on this one. Evac doesn't belong on a PvP server, and combined with a fame system that rewards escape artists, it is truly utter bullshit.

I see the "but without evac, there will be no room for solo and small group- PvP"-argument come up again too, and I don't buy it. If evac really was there to protect soloers and smaller groups from bigger ones, how come not all classes get have this ability then? But maybe those other classes are just not supposed to be able to go out alone without a scout, amirite? Just too bad most scouts are so extremely capable of getting their kills solo that they don't really need anyone else. Grouping normally just means it's gonna take longer for a strong solo class to get those tokens. That's class balance for you, right there.

Evac is of course very handy when that group of higher con'ed douchebags charge you just because they can. But just wait until most of your opponents are even con and you can never get a fair fight because everyone (and their dog) evacs on sight and avoid you until they can come back with superior numbers and gank the living bejesus out of you. It is annoying and boring, to be honest.

It's easy to see everything only from the "victim's" angle when you're alone, outnumbered, outgeared and low level, I've done that a lot too. But when you reach max level, start running with friends, and are actively looking for PvP, you will see the other side of the coin. It is evac, evac, evac, more evac and even more evac after that. Even if you run solo, you usually have to focus more on how to stop someone from evac'ing than actually winning the fight. So much focus on avoiding PvP and so little actual fighting is not that interesting in the long run...

But it is what it is, I guess. And as long as it stays that way, I guess we will all keep clicking that evac button to save our precious little titles. Or escape locket. Or whatever else.

About reach: Can't comment on that, since it's very rare for me to fight a swashbuckler. But even a lot of swashbucklers seem to agree that their class may need to be toned down some.

Evac really and truly is a signature ability for a SK. Paladins received resurrection instead of this one, as I recall.

If for any reason evac was ever removed from PVP, I'd pretty much DEMAND a replacement skill of equal or greater value first. It could be different, but it better be something good, because losing that ability would significantly reduce the value and playability of my SK without something of equal or better value to replace it. I'd consider pally rez to be a legit trade, just in my opinion.
