meh doesn't matter I suppose...but honestly I don't know..probably the same reason us players can't see servers like Valor/Storms etc when making a new char

On the upper right corner of the launchpad, there's a "Region Select" drop down. Choose English [US] (or English [EU] to see the Euro servers if you are interested) and you'll see the appropriate server list.

Aye, the region select. But it will generally patch each time you switch so its good to have two different EQ2 directories to avoid re patching every time.
