No question.
Sadly, he's right.

For PvE it'd be better to have a Swashy tanking, a healer of some sort (Warden is a great choice on a PvP server), and the 3rd one could be anything really, but I'd lean towards a Warlock.

For PvP, Swashy's are just so overpowered that when u get 3 of them together they're gonna burn down virtually anything so fast nothing else matters. Keeping any of the 3 targeted is very hard, and with the ability to taunt-off whomever is damaged and then detaunt aggro, I can't see any other trio taking them down.

You could say an Illy or Coercer might, but honestly at least one Swashy is gonna resist the Illy/Coercer and burn him down before he can hiccup.

Some might suggest that a tank could taunt them off, but honestly, 3 Swashy's would completely destroy any tank so fast that this isn't going to be a winnning strategy. Just about the only trio I can think of htat might last against 3 Swashy's would be 1 Tank (Guardian preferably), 1 Healer (Warden preferably) and 1 Crowd Controller (Illy or Coercer either one). Then the Illy could try to CC one or two of the Swashies (good luck with the way resists are atm) and the Tank immediately taunt the remaining swashy(ies), then hope the healer can pump out enough heals to keep the tank alive. But really, the CC needs to land on 2 of the swashies at a time to make this work ... lol given resist rates and cure potions, it's still unlikely that trio could beat 3 Swashies.

Yeah, it might not be what everyone wants to play, but the best PvP trio atm is probably:

Swashy, Swashy, Swashy

true story.

make sure the warlocks have their full 4 set of the incredibly broken dispersion gear, and with both Propagations stacking, you'll nearly max the stoneskin proc rate. after that, let the overpowered "nerf incoming" goodness flow!

Swashy, Dirge, Fury....

Its been shown to work very good in the past.

Darkmeat, Applesauce, krispin.

But i think, this might be little better

Swashy, Troubador, Fury

Default Re: PvP Trio:

The answer to that question depends on what you expect from PvP with your trio.

Title farming:

As many evacs as possible, stupid miracles, any combo might work since it's a 3v1 or 3v2 fights.

+

I can't tell

-

You will finally only engage very rare encounters and evac a lot. Boredom.
You will discover every single exploit to make your group engage unexpected fights and trick you into losing fame.
Lame.

Group hunting: (3v6 or 3v6+)

Aoe dps, healer (warden, fast heals, group hot, immunity to root/snare)

You don't need a track every group will engage you, just wait and do your best. There are many overconfident groups that will die to your aoes.

+

Excitement to fight full groups being 3.
Nobody will evac.

-

Don't even think people will be ashamed to get in a 12v3.
You will get adds all the time.

Ganking: (3v1 or 3v green questers or engaged questers)

Any burst dps scout class + anything.

+

Tokens.
Fame.

-

Pride.
Boredom.

Trio fights:

Too rare for me too have enough experience to be peremptory. It might be a good idea to boost PvP (getting people out of town without a full group). You'll need to organize a sort of zone for Trios to fight, for the full groups not to farm them for fame and tokens.

This is a great set-up. Smuggle, track, boom.

But...Templars will have some better buffs than Warden, you would have Prop and Blessings, Sanctuary, more hp and increase piercing etc for swash. Fast casting aa's to come up to speed with heals. Divine Arbitration group spell haste cast/recover... and at 80 Repent, single target ward/reactive.
Templar can dps as well (or better) as a Warden if specc'd right and cannot be interrupted with Steadfast AA.

Warlock can port you around.
