I had never played an SK (or paly for that matter) before and when I rolled up a Sarnak it defaulted to SK so I figured what the hell. They are pretty fun and durable it seems. I was(still am) a complete newb to PvP and seem to be able to hold my own 1v1 on opponenets within +3 levels of me, regardless of their title. Not saying I win mostly, but at least I dont feel like I just got smoked. Seems to me that more than three levels though I start to get a lot of resists and things can go downhill pretty quick (mostly Adpt 1s with a few Adpt3s and masters).
If you are already familiar with SK I think that would be a fine choice for you as a new person to PvP.
BTW...for what it's worth I am Int 4,8,8 and am now working on reaving. This seems to be working out prety well for me at least.
