Considering...
So, i play on PvE mostly, and was considering just making a goof-off PvP toon. Main experience in classes is SK, Inquisitor, Assassin (tho i betrayed him to ranger... lol) and summoners in general.
Basically, I'm asking for advice to get started, and what class someone who hasn't really pvp'd much in an mmo could get used too -- for instance, if SK or inq is viable for goof-off soloing, as i already have pretty good experience with those classes.

Re: Considering...
There are countless PvP-guides on th eofficial forums and maybe even a few around on EQ2 Flames.
In short, predators and rogues are famous for soloing because of their innate tools e.g. tracking, evac, burst dps etc.
However, with the advent of PvP-writs in the coming weeks, solo pvp viability is going to be the same but not as effective.
If you play alone, you would be best to play a scout. If you play with other people, consider your role and pick a class which best fits that, whether healer, utility or tankage. Every class has it's place on the pvp servers, some more than others though..

Re: Considering...
P.S. You do realise that once you PvP, PvE will always feel stale and boring?
Welcome to PvP muhaha, because there is no way back...

Re: Considering...
Mmmm, i tend to like PvE not only for my wonderful guild of friends, but because I like being able to wander around and _not_ worry about some three box ganking me?
Thanks for the advice on scouts, i've solo played a briggy a bit on PvE and was thinking of remaking her on PvP. I've actually tried a warden for a bit on PvP, but i was vastly... err, pwned, and decided to quit her.
Just thinkin of coming back to goof off with a bit while baby is asleep.

I'm not aware of anyone who tries to 3 box pvp on Nag, and if they did, they'd be an easy target for 3 tokens. I'm one of the few reasonably effective 2 boxers I know of, but no way would I try 3 boxing, I would be a token ATM machine if I did.

Out of the classes you've named that you have experience with, I'd say stay a Shadow Knight, they're pretty strong solo on all fronts if played correctly.

Re: Considering...
Yeah... was thinking SK, LFG was saying in other threads how much SK is pretty good at pvp, and I'm not bad on blue-style duels, anyway.
Was also considering briggy, i've goofed off with a briggy before but never above, oh 15ish. Would having a 72 SK's knowledge of the class give me a bigger edge?

Re: Considering...
Ofcourse PvE knowledge will help but IMO PvE knowledge and skill scratches only the surface of PvP.
Once you fully know your own class, you have to learn every other opposing class in order to counter them.
This is generally achieved through experience.
P.S. A duel and general PvP is completely different and generally "unfair" but realistic and FUN!
