Re: STATIC CHESTS
Several people will already have 2-4 pieces of fabled pvp armor imo because they will have farmed teh old system and saved them up. Grats to them hehe .. I know I have around 300ish spare.. (it's a start)..
If you set the ratio to kill:token too low you will never get a full set of pvp gear. Unless you exclusively pvp for months and months..
Raids are hard only to a point when you figure the encounter out. Then it's just about logging in and farming tbh.
THis porposed ststic chest system will cater for everyone, including large groups (and not raids which imo should not get any credit unless they hit a similar sized raid)..

ok, just keep the writs EXACTLY as they are, AND put the tokens back in dropping exactly the same way.

Re: STATIC CHESTS
At 400 tokens a pop, I doubt Im going to see a full set on Venekor... unless they give us 2 tokens per kill. Even then it'd be a LONG time.

I don't know why you active pvpers on venekor are so stubborn and wont just pay to move servers.
You would be much more satisfied with the game if your main focus is pvp and targets.

I've got three characters and spending £75 on a game I already bought is a lot of fucking money.
I think this system would put too many tokens into circulation. It'd still be hard to get a full set on Venekor, but on Nagafen everyone would be drowning in tokens.
Personally I'm happy with writs, just so long as it's only raw kills and not specific classes.

Re: STATIC CHESTS
What's wrong with linking token gain from turning in your writ to the current active population?
Low server load? 20 tokens per writ.
Medium? 10 tokens
High? 5 tokens
As for why im not on nagafen... lets just say i prefer the more drama-lite server, where I have many friends to one where you cant pick your nose without being called a noob and where there are very few people I even know.
At the absolute most, i would transfer, get my gear and then transfer back... and only if I won lotto.

- First time the chest is opened, any cash inside is split.
- No infamy or chests will drop if you are in a raid (including a x2). However, a x2 killing a x2 will drop chests/infamy (exactly the same as PvE loot system).
The static chest will drop from 0-3 tokens (as before) and is the same for everyone who loots from that particular chest.
e.g. 2 Freeps kill a Q... static chest drops and "2" tokens are available. Each Freep gets 2 tokens.

LOVE the changes described here. Would be a big step in the right direction to fixing PVP. I hope it catches the eye of a dev.

Why am I not surprised that you agree with this. This proposed method to "fix" this system (which isn't broken in the first place, unless you're looking at it from a young child's Instant Gratification demanding point of view) is to do away with writs and start giving, if I understand it correctly, an appx 1:1 kill:token ratio to everyone involved in any kind of PvP? Flood the server with VP+ quality PvP gear in a matter of weeks, that's brilliant.
You guys are clueless.

As I said, x2 will not get credit for killing solo or hereoic con enemies.
This should limit how fast someone can get a fulls set esp if ~400 tokens = 1 piece of gear. Around 400-700 kill woul dequal to 1 piece then which is a lot of kills tbh.

Re: STATIC CHESTS
The devs are not going to go back to tokens dropping in chests. The entire point was to remove the trend of scouts soloing for their tokens, and group classes being left in the dust as far as token gain rate goes.
Even if there was a legitimate 50% chance for exactly 1 token to drop off each kill, if everyone in the group is getting that token (or writ update, or however it ends up working), then the full groups are still pulling in PvP gear MUCH faster than anyone was before LU-42.
If you want my honest opinion on what should be done, I think it should stay with a writ based system, to encourage grouping. However, remove the class specific requirements, and increase the required # of kills per writ so there is a reasonable ratio of KillsRequired:TokensGained by your group. A 2:1 ratio there is NOT viable under a writ system, because that's actually a 1:3 ratio due to the entire group being able to receive the update. That's the same rate of gear entering the game as if you were a powerful solo class such as brig/ranger under the old system, and were ASSURED of a 3-token chest on EVERY kill. Granted, only the soloers would be decked out under that old system, but spread that out over a few people in your group and if you can't see how that's still WAY WAY too much PvP gear entering the game at that rate, you need to open your eyes.
These items are equivalent or exceeding VP-quality for PvPers. They are obtainable solo or in small groups rather than requiring a full raid and the ability to take down difficult epic mobs. You guys are insane if you think this stuff is going to be just handed to you on a platter.
