In EOF, or in ROK?

I've been raiding a month solid, averaging 6 nights a week of actual raiding, and have 2 raid fabled items. The shit is not flowing like mana from heaven as it has in past expansions. Much of what drops is unusable by anyone, e.g., tons of gear that is scout only or tank only and repeatedly drops so nobody can use it among the limited classes that can use it. My situation is not uncommon among people who've been raiding ROK from the beginning, and have cleared VP every time it's been open since Dec - Jan (until LU 42, that is).

I have probably more high end gear from raids, due to being able to raid basically every night, than most havenites. So I should qualify as someone with full fabled t8 gear right? That's your theory?

Gloves-x2 drop
Waist- faction item
Legs- T7 fabled
Boots- T7 fabled
Neck- quest

Ring1- T7 fabled
Ring2- VP drop
Wrist1- T1 fabled(anyone can get it)
Wrist2- quest reward
Weapon1- heroic epic
Weapon2- VP drop, but on par with items from T1 and T2.
Bow- T7

So there you have it. 3 pieces of VP loot, and that's someone that's made damn near every raid possible. The upgrades simply just do not drop like you think they do. Faction guilds can and are clearing at least some of T2 now. With collections, quests, legendary gear, and some mixed in T7 loot, yes you too can have 90% of an end game raiders loot! Go kill some folks, and get pvp gear too!

You really are quite insane if you think the gap in gear is that large. The loot from VP simply doesn't flow like water, it drips out like a leaky faucet. And there simply is _NOT_ another high end raid zone that gives some magic advantage in gear. VS drops 1 item(sometimes a shitty set piece too) a week, Leviathan drops 1 item a week, sometimes great, sometimes not. And those mobs aren't even that hard, they just have a much higher learning curve skillwise than say, Pawbuster.

If your average Freeport raider is incapable of clearing T1, doing quest, collections, factions, and T7, they have no right to bitch about VP loot.

So do these city faction folk understand that many melee classes (at least scouts) are wearing most of this VP set gear in an APPEARANCE slot and only elect to use them on raids for certain specific set bonuses (the brigand 5 set +duration to dispatch comes to mind)?

For PvP purposes, the procs and reactive effects (damage, control effects, etc) that are tied to the legendary T8 gear are simply better. I have a macro to swap out most of my shiny T8 fabled stuff for this legendary crap when I PvP. Admittedly, I don't PvP that much anymore, but even when I do I'm not wearing crazy amounts of VP gear like some people think. =)

If you're in a guild that can clear T1/2 RoK raid instances, you already have access to 99% of the loot that you'll ever really want for PvP purposes. PvP gear and T8 legendary/heroic shit is simply better in many cases. And if you're really jonesing for a few extra HP instead of some reactive effect or proc, the PvP armor is almost identical to the VP set gear and is obtainable without all the baggage of a hardcore raid guild.
