i think my problem is i dont enjoy pvp at all anymore. :-( writs completely killed it for me.

As far as raiding in concerned, in my experience, right tactic >> all available classes. Heck a lot of raid encounters don't even hit that hard. It's mainly a case of hate, power usage, DPS, AE immunity and positioning imo.

Hate isn't an issue for either city. Enchanter/swash and/or bard etc should be fine esp witha guardian.

Power? I haven't raidied Q-side a long time. but with all the power gear and an illy, powa agin isn't a serious point.

DPS could be a possible issue. Top dps is usually predator or sorcerors. Rangers don't have to joust which makes up for the slightly higher assassin dps when in melee range imo.

Bards sure help with AE immuntiy but so do signets which are not available to exile.

Positioning is a responsibility of the MT/OT etc depening on the encounter. But also the aquired knowledge of the encounter.

Sure imo, all classes help but Tactic >> all classes.

As far as PvP is concerned, why not allow exiles to get pvp gear? just put a merchant in the cave and to make it all fair, allow any class to grp/guild with anyone, open up communication but restrict peoples ability to walk freely in opposing cities due to lore.

I PvP every day and I've got about 350 tokens over two characters. We can BARELY get five tokens a day now.
Yea, that full PvP set is just fifteen minutes away!

Nobody cares about the lore/rp aspect of it. Nobody. But if you had to get around the lore/rp part it would be easy:

Create a double agent quest only available to those with max Royal Antonican Guard faction or Lucan knights faction. After you complete the quest you can live in your city as a class normally not allowed to with the faction. Making it only allowed for max faction players allows it to make sense in a RP aspect as you have to prove yourself to your faction before being allowed to have the abilities of the enemy faction and still remain in their favor.

This shouldn't be a problem to anyone, as exiles are in that faction for the ffa pvp, right?

Every expansion is the same. Faction guilds complain that they are at a disadvantage for not having the right classes. Exile guilds spend the majority of their time raiding on a pvp server and quote ffa pvp reasons for exiling. A faction guild or two manage to progress at a stagnated rate, progressing through the same content several months after the exiles did and the exiles use that as proof that raiding as a faction is completely viable. Europa was the example that was constantly quoted last expac, and they ended up exiling because they got sick of the disadvantage. We'll have to see if the exile's new guild they use for this argument does the exact same thing next expansion when they see the exile guilds steamrolling right past them again.

Giving both classes to factions isn't suddenly going to turn a faction guild into the best raid guild on the server. Some people in factions are disillusioned of this. The exile guilds put way more time into it. But the fact that faction guilds aren't going to do as well as the exile guilds in raiding isn't a logical reason that they shouldn't have the ability to have the classes needed to progess through content that is designed around having all classes.

The only reason this discussion takes place is because raid gear gives a significant advantage in pvp this tier. If it didn't, there wouldn't be raid guilds on a pvp server that raid 6+ nights a week. If the advantage didn't exist you wouldn't have exiles posting/arguing more to keep the status quo than factions are arguing to change it.

If exiles were really simply in that faction to ffa pvp they wouldn't have a problem with factions having all classes, as that aspect of the game wouldn't change. Allowing factions to have all classes would give an equal playing field, and that isn't acceptable to the players that currently have the advantage. If exiles are that faction to have an advantage at raiding so they can get gear easier to give them an advantage in pvp, then arguing against giving the factions the same ability to progress is simply a means to keep their advantage in pvp.

It is actually kind of funny reading a posts from exiles stating that the reason their guild does so well is because they are hardcore and that factions with all classes still wouldn't be able to cut it raiding like they can in one thread and then the next thread states that factions shouldn't get all classes.

It just goes to show that people will lie and argue the most retarded and stupid things if it means that it will give their character an advantage over another.
