Default Immunity to charm

Items, Spells, Combat Arts, AAs, anything that can help you resist or be immune to charm.

(This does not include the pure resist mental.)

If you'd like to contribute, my purpose is to discern why charm is left out of all the effect immunity type spells, Further, if the reason is simply that PvE content does not put you at sufficient risk of being charmed to warrant such a defense.

There's like one item in the game that makes you immune to charm.

Good luck.

Two items actually, but like Ratface, I'm not giving that info out!

A smidge off topic, but I always thought the best way to balance charm would be to first fix the buff collision and dropping that seems to happen all the time with troubador mez- someones power song and DKTM are dropping, and it shouldn't. Should be easy to code them to coexist and overlap, but not stack, like selos.

After that, remove previous hostile effects on a player before the charm, leaving just charm, but any new effects cast on the player, get applied in order of curing before the charm, making it harder to remove. Almost everyone seems to dislike what stacking debuffs before charm does these days in pvp, with cure changes, so alter it!

Default Re: Immunity to charm

Shit like this just pisses me off as a coercer.

Apart from the fact that my main charm has no use what so ever in PvP, my AA charm having some use can be out right resisted by an immunity. Ok it's not permant or clicky but still, in a fight with a healer, an enchanter wouldnt stand a chance against someone with this.

WHY DO THE DEVELOPERS CREATE ITEMS THAT COMPLETELY TRIVIALISE OTHER CLASSES??? It must be nice on PvE, but honestly.. is it really that hard to balance in PvP?

And I bet you all wonder why there is so much inbalance? Off the top of my head.. some of the crap that has slipped though the net..
  • God spells were a joke when they were released in PvP.. mostly OP. Now stupid gods like britlebane make rangers/enchanters trivial and a joke to fight.. pathetic
  • When Shard of fear was opened there was a 2 hander that had a pretty much permanent stun on it. I mean there must have been ~50 items to balance here... how hard could that be? pathetic
  • Stone skin for scouts? OMG.. and it was 10% proc chance.. pathetic
  • Stone skin which re-generates manashield? pathetic
  • Then you change back only some of the items yet you completely blanket nerf other items all the time.. Have some consistency FFS.. pathetic
  • Even stuff like immunity to charm/stun/mez is available, making enchanters.. (esp. coercers who are the weakest pvp class anyway) trivial to beat.. pathetic
  • Earring for fighters which has a +9800 mental resist proc on it.. pathetic
  • The blue shiny reet helm when it was released has a +300 CA proc on it.. which was silently nerf'd after (not before kruhl used it for several dayz/weeks though lol).. pathetic
  • Coil ring from chelsith with a 100% proc AE detonate (~2k per kill)... pathetic
  • Coercer Epic proc "siren's gift" doesn't proc... pathetic
  • No T8 arrows.. pathetic
In summary: Eq2 item design and development is pathetic

It was usually, though not exclusively, from these warlords that a shogun arose.
