tbh - you sound like a brigand whining because it's tougher to get your pvp gear.

Exiles updating writs would be a very good change. Other then that I think it's perfect. A group should have an advantage over solo's or duo's. In PVE there is no way for anyone to solo for VP loot.. it shouldn't be different for PvP. But it IS - because while it might be slightly more difficult for you to solo your way to fully uber fabled, it's possible.

If a player wants to actively pvp and obtain pvp gear, he should be encouraged to join an active pvp guild to pvp with. Just like if a player wants to raid for raid gear, they should join a raid guild to raid with..

There is player choice. One way is easy - and in the spirit of the MMO genre, the other is tough.

I disagree with you. You can solo and earn money then buy gear off a raid guild. I'm considering selling flagging for vp and epic updates atm.

Kruhl

Did you complain about the old system being more beneficial to solo classes?

Is this really fair? Certainly it's much harder for the duo to take out a full group than a full group taking out a full group. So the system should compensate for that accordingly.

Is it necessarily fair you could have a full x4 obliterate 1 solo player in .2 seconds, and they get 24 updates? Stuff like this is what I'm talking about. Sorry I wasn't clearer earlier.
the problem kruhl, is that the old system favored specific classes. As a tank that is almost required to group in order to stand a chance, its nice that i now get credit for kills when before it was just a chance i might get a token if the die rolled my way.

it evens the playing field, it was implemented because certain classes could rip through kills all day while others were left behind. writs need to take in hostile characters, or at least diametrically opposed and neutral classes.(aka, a Pally doesnt get credit for killing another pally) but thats splitting hairs.

I dont mind that they are moving to subtypes, that should help a bit.

Getting rid of updates for raids would be a step in the right direction. But the system they have now is biased in favor of large guilds and completely neglects and screws over the players who don't always have a x2 available to protect them.
they still do man, they just dont get to have advantages over everyone when it comes to gear.

Our guys in merc solo alot even now, but they dont pass up grouping either. it WAS tough for solo to get the specific updates for class, however with the change, it'll be easier. just pick common class types, like Brigand /warden....LOL.

Changing it so you wouldn't get updates in a raid wouldn't change anything. /leaveraid and run with 3 groups instead of a x3 raid and everyone would still get updates.

If you changed it so only 1 group could get updates off a group or some such thing there is a billion ways to exploit using an engaging alt to make it so nobody would ever get a token from you.

If writs are going to be the method of gaining tokens, this is about as good as it is going to get. Get a scout/priest writ and you'll get a writ done every 5 kills. That is going to make getting tokens really easy. I wouldn't be surprised if we see lots of fighting taking place at the writ givers :P

Archetype is Fighter/Priest/Mage/Scout

Class would be Rogue, Subclass would be brig/swashy.
