PVP writs changing slightly
Test Update Notes: Tuesday, February 26th 2008
You can now get updates off of archetypes instead of specific subclasses.
This is good news! I don't think it's going to fix the issue entirely, but it sure does help.

That's the way it should have been to begin with.

Re: PVP writs changing slightly
Exiles should count towards writs.

Well, a few things. First- exiles need to give updates for general writ updates. Secondly, the system needs to take into consideration how many people you're PVP'ing with, and comparing it to how many people you fought. For example- As it stands now, if a duo (2 players) kill a group of 6, let's say they get 6 updates. If a group of 6 kills another group of 6, they also theoretically get 6 updates. Is this really fair? Certainly it's much harder for the duo to take out a full group than a full group taking out a full group. So the system should compensate for that accordingly.
Is it necessarily fair you could have a full x4 obliterate 1 solo player in .2 seconds, and they get 24 updates? Stuff like this is what I'm talking about. Sorry I wasn't clearer earlier.

PvP is too fargone to be fixed now. Just suck it up and wait for Warhammer.

Terrible solution! I'll tell you why. It doesn't just apply to groups, it applies equally to raids. So even if I'm in a full group, there's nothing keeping us from getting rolled by a x3, and the x3 getting 108 total updates from our group alone.
The game needs to recognize how many players are involved in a PVP battle and give rewards accordingly. The way the system is now, it encourages zerging with the most amount of players.

You favor strong solo classes and kill group dependants when you do that. The fact that going out duo vs going out with a group IS an 'optional' choice has to be enough now, because otherwise you're just gonna go right back to the old 'scouts in full pvp gear and pallys in loin cloth'.
If you want to get rid of updates for raids that would be different. Ask for unraided updates..but dont try and bring it back to soloists get most rewards after all this. Everyone comprises for a solution that works for everyone..EVERYONE. There has to be a point when you step back from 'ME ME ME' and look at the overall picture and go 'ok this works for all classes now', right?

At least with the system before, it was still player decision. I think certain classes SHOULD have inherent advantages in solo'ing, while some classes SHOULD have inherent advantages in grouping. Everybody knows a brigand is a great solo class, and just an OK grouping class. If you don't like the soloability of your class? CHANGE CLASS. Getting rid of updates for raids would be a step in the right direction. But the system they have now is biased in favor of large guilds and completely neglects and screws over the players who don't always have a x2 available to protect them.
