Default Warlock vs. Mysic T5-4 Help.

Okay, well, I have a 42 lock with 43 or 44 AA, Manashield, 10 points in Magi shielding, 2 more till focused casting. Anyhow, gear is mostly 32 MC, with a few 42 MC thrown in as I can afford, spells ad1 or ad3.
Any tips for fighting mystics? This is the second mystic that I've tried, ( both were green ), first time scourge kicked my [I cannot control my vocabulary], so this time I tried to click off as many buffs as I could before hand, but somehow scourge still got me for around 900-1200 forget exactly, but the problem was, is even with my ad3 spells, I couldnt land any on the guy. Being green , he resisted 80% of the spells I threw at him, I couldnt even dent him.
What's the key here? I tried to dispel magic, that does jack [I cannot control my vocabulary], as usual. Debuffed him with everything I had, nothin works. If a few people hadnt' jumped in, he would have kicked the [I cannot control my vocabulary] out of me easily. ( And if you're reading, sorry, I tried 1vs1 )
Anything that I could have done diff? Or is it just one of those classes that locks have a hard time with?

Any caster type will have a rough go with a scourge spec'd mystic / defiler. The spell (and pretty much the whole Shaman Int line) is basically designed to spank you for having the audacity to buff yourself in the presence of a Blighter.

You've got to burn him down fast, because you probably won't win that battle of attrition, even with m/s.

All priests will have higher passive resists due to Wisdom being their primary attribute. Only way to marginally debuff it is with a hex doll, or any PC debuffs that lower Wisdom.

You're better off nuking the dog (they have very low hitpoints) to initate the fight.

A few points:

1) Did you censor yourself? WTF man.

2) Dispel Magic does exactly that, it dispels magic based buffs. It is for mages and possibly troubadors(?), it will have no effect on priests. EVER. EDIT: However, you can purchase a pumice stone from your general pvp faction merchant and dispel a healer's buffs and wards with that.

3) Build up anything with DISRUPTION on it to help your resists. I think the stamina line has an AA for this, max it out. Disruption = less resists.

4) Prioritize wisdom and resistance debuffs first to lower your opponents survivability.

5) Carry health and mana potions. If you're in a guild that can buy them, carry healing and mana signets too. You should have a little downtime to get some artificial healing going against a mystic because (afaik) they have slow cast times. Carry a stack of each cure potion because I'm not sure what sort of debuffs mystics can do but I'm sure you're better off not being debuffed.

6) Upgrade your gear.

7) Level up.

If there is a class I down right fear on my Warlock, it's a good defiler with scourge. At the beginning of the fight, I run away, or root, and cancel every damned buff I can.

Then I focus cast and do every stun, and interrupt I have and hope my stifle procs fire off so I can get the benefit of Focus Casting before he removes it.

If they're alive when Focus Casting is over, then chances are, I'm dead.

So I finally got Focused and Manashield, lvl 44 now. When PVP, what's the strat I should be using? I generally do well in PVP, before Focused, is there a certain order of spells I should be using? Or just nuke the shit out of them before it runs out?

Thanks for the info on dispel magic, I wondered why it never dispelled anyone!

And did I censor myself? I copied and pasted it from eq2 forums.

Thanks for the info, this class is fun as hell to play!
