Even in a PERFECT WORLD, you can still only complete 3 writs in one hour (20 minute cooldown and an hour is 60 minutes = 3 writs) so maybe you should learn to tell time you fucking wanker.

PvP Gear has always been associated with the city factions, and the original PvP merchants were located in the major cities....so at one point SOE actually had it right (whoa...and it even went along with the story-line). The obvious solution to the whole issue (expressed over and over again by the people that actually PvP), is simply to move the writ provider and PvP vendors back into the major cities. Afterall.... its supposed to be a reward from your city for eliminating the opposing city faction (hence the increase in faction you get for it). Moving them back into their respective cities means:

No special coding for outdoor zones
No special timer needed
No real ability to token farm
No special writ vendors spread to close or far to revive points
No bottle necks in major zones
No reason for x18 to congregate in an already busy zone
No exiles forced to walk by a city-faction NPC and listen to its babble

Lets extend this idea... why on Norrath would Lucan really need me to run out to Loping Plains, KP or Fens (entirely different factions all-together) to pick up my writ or buy my Freeport-only gear?? Seriously.... what genius came up with this idea?

The solution that works for everyone seems pretty simple to me.

when figuring out the # of tokens gained from writs please do not forget to multiply by 6, since everyone in your group gets the update. in fact, i rescind that "please"... you WILL fucking multiply by 6, because that's the math that was used to balance it.

if you really want tokens to go back to the old system of tokens dropping in chests and only 1 person effectively "getting an update" at a time, just cry hard enough about it and i'm sure it'll happen. you guys are fucking blind to just how easy it is compared to the old system.

What I don't think any faction people realize, or believe is that getting full pvp gear takes less time than getting full vp gear.

Don't believe me? I'll do the math for you.

In the best case scenario, it will take an exile raid 24 weeks to fully gear up each member in VP armor. 1 Pattern drops from 7 different VP mobs, so at best you get 7 Patterns per run. So in the best case, each person in the raid will get all 7 patterns in 1 week, and you can only reset VP once a week. So logic follows that 24 raiders = 24 weeks of VP farming. Now where it gets complicated is that the armor patterns do not use Smart Loot, so probability dictates that you will not get 7 unique drops each run. To further complicate it, you will not have the same 24 raiders each run, so you need to extend the best case time 1 week per additional raider.

Now if that same exact raid were to pvp (under the new writ system) for the same amount of time that they spend raiding: 5 hours a day for 5 days a week (What kraken raids i believe) it would take 7.5 weeks to fully equip every member with full pvp armor - under optimum conditions. 15 tokens an hour, ~2800 tokens for full armor = 7.5 weeks of raiding. Now of course there are other things to factor in, such as not being able to complete a writ every 20 minutes due to sparse targets, or not having all the same people each night. But the last affects VP raids more severly than PvP raids, as each different person extends the time frame by AT LEAST 1 week.

So who has easy mode, 24 weeks or 7.5 weeks?

Furthermore, most slots stay filled with gear that comes from T1 and T2 gear as it is far superior to VP gear... and that doesn't even include the new Contested Dominus.

So what? You should be rewarded for PvPing instead of PvEing. You want gear faster? Leave your instances and PvP.

Full PvP gear has always been attainable by scouts in less time than full raid gear.
