you guys came to this server presumably to pvp before there was any such thing as tokens or writs...so why does pvp have to include them now? Get out of immunity, and maybe with a little practice you'll find out it's not impossible to beat the "overpowered raid geared exiles" in pvp. You sit in immunity and just wait to get tokens, all you're gonna end up doing is quicking 6 months from now when you realize all the pvp gear in the world isn't necessarily going to make you better at pvp.

Seriously guys, slant it anyway you want, but pvp'ers don't hug immunity all night and only go out to farm tokens. the pvp gear was meant as a reward to real pvp'ers, not as incentive for all the shitty players who just want raid gear without the raiding. you'll never be happy at the end of the day, you're only prolonging your quitting.

Wait, were you one of those fabled out level 17s Brigands running around in noobville with a 300+ KvD saying you didn't kill noobs, and gear doesn't matter?

I've got over 13 years of PvP experience over several games. My perfect EQ2 PvP world would be; Upon reaching level 10, I can obtain levels, achievment levels, gear, et cetera by doing absolutely nothing but Player vs Player fighting.

If there were zero rewards for PvP, I would not PvP in this game at all. PvP just for fun was cool in 1996. However, I don't want to play Pacman, Streetfighter II, or some MUD from the 80s, no matter how much fun they were back in the day. Without PvP, EQ2 is not fun for me.

I want PvP in MMOs to move forward not backward. DAOC was a step forward, but WoW and EQ2 are giant steps backward. Hopefully, Warhammer or AoC will restore movement in a positive direction.

I cannot express in words alone how ignorant it is to think that everyone factioned sits in immunity for 20 minutes waiting to get another writ. It makes no sense on several levels.

Since it cannot be expressed in words alone, please now, sitting at your computer, make this sound aloud: DUUUUUR?RRG?GRGGGGGGG?GGGGGGGURURGRG??? (the question marks are silent, and used only for intonation).

Now we have expressed the level of ignorance together, vocally.

For one, there is no way six, or even three, people are going to efficiently maintain the same timer. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to realize that the best method for obtaining tokens (even if that IS your sole motivation) is to Pvp constantly, with those who can complete a writ turning in asap and those who can get a new one, doing so asap.

If you think everyone from the cities are intentionally doing otherwise... you're delusional.

Here's a scary truth: You will see people in immunity at times!

Here's another frightening fact: We see exiles in immunity all the time! GASP!

In fact, us simplistic city folk are SO infuriatingly tired of all the exiles just sitting in immunity waiting for their next raid to occur so they can amass more VP gear and mythical weapons... hug bluebie immunity hug hug practice impossible bluebie VP gear farm farm tokens quitting crybaby farm farm whine.

Did I hit all the buzz words?

Oh no, that's not the only reason. They also wait in immunity for another same faction group to be around so they can run around unraided and claim the never pvp in raids while attacking single groups.

Everything anyone complains of is seen by all three factions. You think that doesn't happen to Qeynos? To Freeport? I have no doubt these horrible injustices happen to exiles, because that's all we hear about from you, how unfair everyone else is to you by the numbers, and how scared they are of you.

Let me ask you something somewhat off topic, in all seriousness: Do you think venomous and spiteful forum propaganda, regardless of its veracity, incites people to PvP more? Is that the underlying motivation for some people's posts?

Is a there a chance it has the opposite effect?

no, i think the pvp game is already too far gone for there to be any permanent reprieve regardless of what's said. But I do take issue with people posting excuses for it when it really lies in the actions of most the same people. The game could work if people want it to work, and it has in the past. But sadly, as k9quaint posted, most faction people today don't want to pvp, they want to get rewards and will pvp as a means of getting them. I can't say i entirely blame them, as ultimately, there is no objectives in pvp in Eq2 other than the pvp itself, especially with perma immunity and zone control no longer being a possible concept.

Alot has been made about the panacea that is exile, and it being the cause of the lack of pvp. But not a single person that posts this excuse ever goes exile to reap these mythical rewards of the faction, but rather would wallow in self pity and use it as an improper excuse for why they choose to not pvp. I wonder why that is?

I thought exiles only PvP'd when forced to, while going to the next raid?
