After losing too much coin myself, I've made it easier to mail your coin to an alt. Mod that adds a button to add all but 10c (postage) to a mail:

you lose a shit ton if you level 70-80 solo. Turning in a few quests can net you 50g-1p easy and you get ganked all the time before you can get to a mailbox in time. I've lost over 10 plat easy just from quest turn ins.
