Well, I've had a chance to see the issue from both sides now. I've been in an exiled raid guild for the last 9 months, so I know what level of effort it takes to get endgame raid gear. I've been back in Freeport and PvPing a lot again for about 4-5 days now, so I've experienced firsthand the "flow" of getting writ updates and tokens and how that feels (instead of just *ahem* commenting about it secondhand from exile). I've also gone to the T8 Lucanic Rewards Vendor and actually seen these items and sets firsthand instead of just hearing other people comment on it.

Conclusion: Shut the fuck up about PvP gear. For the level of effort and coordination required compared to raiding, it is exceptional. You are making out like a fucking BANDIT on the Risk v Reward, and most of you don't even know it. The PvP set gear is essentially equivalent to VP set gear (in their current state some are slightly better, some are slightly worse), which requires the weekly slaying of Nexona and Druushk, the gatekeeper mobs, to even get access to.

Oh, and btw, for those of you who have never had the pleasure of being in exile and NOT having access to items like the Shifting Band or the other reative detarget/fear procs: shut the fuck up (again). For 300 tokens I can now get an item which will have more of a game-changing effect in any 1v1 battle than even an entire suit of VP set armor or a mythical weapon. That shit is so OP and you still whine for more upgrades across the rest of the board. Get over yourselves.

If you want raid quality gear, then raid for it. In no way does any PvPer deserve that level of gear for what can be boiled down to a gankfest. I could literally run around Fens and J'Wastes all day ganking ranking scrubs who are solo questing and end up geared out BETTER than someone who's had to defeat the hardest raid content in the game. What the fuck is that?

Like someone else noted, this is a PvP server, not a PvP game. If you want a game where itemization and progression is completely based around your PvP achievement, then go play something like BF2142 or any other FPS that has unlockable achievements and gear.

Yes, the Averted Eyes and Fear procs are very nice for PvP, but like I said earlier, Mages get nothing anything like as good as that stuff. We get what? A clicky that reduces the speed of our next spell. That's right, 1 spell. It saves about 2 seconds max, not including the time it takes you to click it. Oh, and a 194 health that procs twice a min. Give mages something half decent.

But the actual PvP sets versus VP sets, there's no comparison. The VP sets are better stat wise, and have better bonuses.

Sorcerers do not need it. Coercer/Illusionist do not need it. The only class that could use the averted eyes and fear proc is necro/conjuror.
