New to EQ2, questions about pvp

Hello. I am new to EQ2 (taking a long break from Guild Wars) and just have a few questions about pvp and the pvp servers.

First, should I not even bother with a pvp server until I get a character to 80 and have a significantly better understanding of the game, or is it possible to learn the game in such an environment? I only have a level 13 Mystic on a regular server that I am learning the game with. I can obviously see recommendations to wait for pvp justified at this early stage, but about when do you think I could feasibly begin playing on a pvp server without simply being surprisebuttsecks'd left and right?

Next, could someone clarify for me the rules on the pvp servers? It seems as if it is not a ffa, but rather you can only attack people from an opposing faction? Am I way off in that observation?

Finally, any class suggestions for someone as new as I am to start off with in pvp?

Beandip, why the hate? the only time I say something dumb, Im not serious, or I will admit to a mistake. I just want him to pm more specific questions so I can answer him in an orderly fashion.

It's not hate, I'm just merely saying, a lot of the time when you try giving advice or state something about the game... it turns out to be wrong often.

eh, i do occasionally say things just to fuck with people, like the guardians > zerkers for 1v1 but not group thing

But for genuinely new people, I like to help them in the hopes they stay and level up.

You can learn the game real well with pvp.

Harvest, sell, farm masters, u can do fine

Easy, Anyone that you see that has a color, except red or grey, kill them.

Your not going to go out there and own face for a while. Don't care about dying. Kill people imo.
