Contemplating on Resubbig- TSO Manndatory for PvP?

I unsubbed about a year ago, came back for a bit for the free summer, and I am now thinking of maybe resubbing. I've never gotten a character to max level (50 is the highest I've gotten), and will probably wipe all characters and start anew if I do resub. My question is this:

Is the TSO expansion required to compete in pvp whilst leveling? If I do resub I plan on getting it eventually, but are the new AAs required to be competitive from 10 to about 40-ish? I understand that this will vary by class as they all have different trees. The classes I felt the most comfortable with were SK, Bruiser, Fury, Warden, Zerker, and Inquis (I'm a bit of an altoholic).

While leveling.. no.
You aren't going to be able to use the best of the TSO AAs until endgame.
You won't be able to use most of them until you have spent X amount of AAs anyway, as the lines don't unlock before then. Because of AA caps... it's not possible to get them at a lower level.

I suggest if you are indeed starting from scratch you refer a friend, refer yourself and get tso for the cost of the subscription. You'll get a free month on your orig account and you'll get tso and a month for 15 bucks.

Not to mention when you group with your 'friend', you get 200% bonus XP for both accounts.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing. I recalled getting an email a while back for a refer-a-friend program. I refered myself and made a new station account. E-mail says I only get up to RoK though.

Also, I've learned that in my time away it seems SKs became a bit FotM. I still love the class, but am reluctant to roll one if there is a plethora of SKs existing already (and seeing as SoE decided to let betrayers keep their previous class, it isn't a freep luxury anymore). Are Zerkers still ok in pvp?

I played for a few weeks (came back about a month ago) before I bothered getting TSO. Most of the PvP seems to be in RoK anyway, and if you aren't 80 yet then absolutely don't bother until you either get to 80 or run out of AAs.
