Unlike having a togglable PvP setting on your character, once you're in the PvP zone you are open and exposed until such a time that you can cleanly (i.e. while not under attack) leave the PvP zone.
Having a single set of PvP zones (that can be accessed from any server) can't be any worse than having a single PvP server (which is the way we're going).
However having the zones accessible from any server would make it much easier to entice new blood to dip into PvP.
This has the added benefit of being able to return to a safe Qeynos/Freeport/Neriak etc and to a diverse and stable economy, while the cities would also be available as PvP zones for 'major battle' events that can be organised by PvP guides.
OK, that's my idea, most likely full of holes... let the scorn pour!

you got your thinking in the right spot, I agree with you in this idea.it would be kool if we could somehow switch between PvP and PvE. No more getting ganked 3,4,5,6 vs 1 or 2, but I dont think that would work.
How Could it?
It would get misused, power lvling, gearing ,etc and then misusing that for PvP. THere are alot of Hackers out there so its bad enough to put up with their speed hacks,etc without them getting uber gear aa, etc.. at all the lvls.
If we would open up a PvE/PvP on same server then SOE can go ahead and allow character transfers from PvP to PvE and back. |
