I dumped the TSO void gear I had on my defiler because although it had more procs, the crit mit and other stats help way more in PvP. With the nerf on deadly bane warding and the amount it gets mitigated to it makes the t3 shard gear look pretty bad too for a defiler.

You talk like you haven't seen alts that NEVER raid get raid gear....same principle, no? It is very possible to get more than 3 Tso raid pieces in one raid night....can't get 3 pvp pieces in one day...it just doesn't happen like that. Just a non-Onyx perspective here.

Actually you can get 3 pieces of pvp gear in one day, actually you can get more.
3hours = 1 piece of gear.
If you want 3 pieces of TSO gear in 1 night you better hope smart loot is on your side or your entire 24 man raid doesnt need any patterns so only yours drop.

You're high if you think pieces of the Illy set are not better than the TSO raid set. The Illy set is exactly the same as the coercer one, and I wear 4 pieces of the Coercer set permanently. If it wasn't for the lack of extra triggers of hostage on the pvp robe, the dark mail gauntles, and the gynok pants, I'd probably be wearing 6 or 7 pieces. The only reason you would event want the Illy tso or rok set is for one of the bonuses to get the extra triggers on PA.

QFE. I know Ohilin (or w/e) had his best intentions at heart, but this update is retarded on several levels. Somehow, almost every single update (or updates when they actually bother to make PvP changes) they manage to make PvP in this game even more worthless.
I was all for making the TSO PvP sets better. But making it better and x5 easier to get? Fucking stupid. Plus some of the bonuses are still almost worthless in PvP, showing either a lack of understanding or just an entire lack of effort on his part.

Individually the items are very nice. But the set bonuses leave ALOT to be desired, 30% less duration on Brainclot? Realy? I mean if it was 2 extra trigger on PA, you'd have a point. As it stands, you're talking shit and we both know it. We both know just how massive a DPS increase those extra triggers on PA are, and alot of the top PvE Illusionists were still wearing 2 piece RoK raid set SPECIFICALLY to get those 2 extra triggers.
I'm only speaking of the classes I have at 80 and have looked at (Illy, necro, troub, templar). The individual pieces are nice, the set bonuses are all weak compared to the raid set. Not to mention the PvP set only has 3 bonuses to the raid set's 4.
EDIT: Just though I'd add that this is not how I would have done this. I personally would have atleast attempted to come up with bonuses on the sets that didn't really do anything (or not much) in PvE (or atleast raids) while still being useful in PvP. Taunt procs that only add a small amount of (or no) threat in PvE, but which lock target for 1 second in PvP, a clicky available for healers which would only be applied to non-fighters that distributes the damage on that person evenly through the group. There are ways to add effects which only take effect in PvP combat (the extra crit mit on the set BP and legs) and this is the route I would use.

Re: pvp gear in nonpvp situations????
Tanks dont need extra taunts, healers dont need extra heals. Putting that kind of crap on gear makes pvp even worse.
I wish you werent so retarded.

Re: pvp gear in nonpvp situations????
how about the shifting band for example? Does it work in raid against epics or just in pvp? I didnt get a chance to try that out on weekend in raids, had to sit this one out (mumbles to himself) im just thinking if the admirals chain dont proc in raids then the shifting band wont either.
If I remember right, the assassin tso pvp gear is better then the t1 tso for sure and even the t2 but lot seems equal to the stuff form tomc ( this is the t3 right? or is it t4?) and woe mitigation varies on items of same kind, some have more some less
What sucks is now that I have more then enough faction with royal ant. guard, I STILL cant get the parry belt. You need shattered lands tokens now. How the hell do you get them? guess Ill have to get a low lvl toon, maybe thatll work

Since you're a retarded fuckface, I'm just going to go ahead and quote from another thread.

And most of us have real lives, which means that 6 pieces (Gives full set bonus) will probably take a week or so, and that's assuming that we have 5 hours of free gameplay time each day and that you finish each writ before the 10 minutes are up.
Anyway, a solution would to make all set bonuses and such PVP only, along with placing writ givers in cities only.
