    Default PvP level locking and general Nagafen ruleset questions

    Me and a group of buddies are coming back to naggy after a couple years away from EQ2. We are forming a static content/pvp guild to play once per week and hoped to use level locking and mentoring etc. as we progress through content. If I didn't do a good enough job searching for myself flame away, hopefully some nuggets of good information get through A few questions are -

    When is full fledged level locking allowed?

    What is current status of mentoring and pvp? As I remember if you are mentoring/mentored you are basically attackable yet unable to respond (STUPID!)

    Can toons aligned with one faction attain early questlines from opposite factions? (Can my Halas toon quest in darklight while pvp'ing etc.)

    40. Mentoring makes you unable to defend yourself. Mercs own in pvp though. Yes.

    Enlighten me, I played from launch of Nagafen for years - I /feedback many times for SOE to find a way to manage the difficulties of mentored pvp and make it happen. What is historical reason? I cannot recall. I simply assume it is the difficulty of balancing the system for pvp on the development side.

    You can completely lock your xp at level 30 (turn your aa slider to 100, up until then it can only be set at 50)

    Currently mentored people can only fight back in pvp if they are hit first. Supposedly their group members aren't able to attack either, but that doesn't seem to always work.

    Your good aligned toon can do any quests in any of the evil starting zones. The problem though is that now that zone is city flagged. So basicly you aren't able to attack any of the evil aligned players in any of the evil starting zones unless they attack you first. There aren't too many people there so it won't be often you can find pvp (there will be some though, probably).

    you said it was stupid that you can't fight back as a mentored toon, i called you a noob because you would realize that there is a valid reason as to why this is a case if you had been around during the time in which you could. if you had indeed been around during this time, assuming you had the cognitive capabilities of a 9 year old, you would see that mentored pvp is harmful to the server. since you clarified that you had actually been around during the epoch of time in which mentor pvp was allowed, i diagnosed you as a retard (see the above sentence, in which i defined the cut off rate for the intellect of a retard as that of nine year old). try to keep up retard.

    My last response - as you managed a full psychiatric analysis upon a couple questions I realize I am way above my head conversing with you.

    That is not a valid reason for scrapping anything. If MMO's scrapped systems due to imbalances you would be left with no game. It is possible to develop this system with balance - but SOE perhaps rightly never felt the need to invest that much in it as with so much else with the pvp ruleset.

    For all I care they could make those mentoring others very weak arbitrarily - as long as they don't stand inept. There are all sorts of development possibilities. But honestly, you don't really care anyway - you just enjoy your outlet to be an asshole - thats cool - whatever

    Finally, I recently read that mentored parties now possessed targeting icons similar to heroic content as a warning to would be attackers. This led me to believe that if attacked all parties could now return the fight. If so I like that change. Can anyone confirm?
