Re: State of our Class - Rangers
Great, so assuming that post reflects that they only recently came to recognize rangers as having legitimate issues, we can expect to see something done in LU43 in 2+ months. If, highly optimistically, they've recognized the problem for some time now, something might be done in 1+ month in LU42. Either way, it's completely unacceptable that it's taking so long for something to happen, given that the incipient problems with the ranger class began to emerge (and were pointed out to the devs) even before RoK beta and became blindingly obvious in beta. But I guess late is better than never?
I'm also concerned with the (probably intentional) vagueness of Fyreflyte's post. What exactly is the 'issue on the radar'? Obviously given that they've probably only recently come to recognize it one could not expect them to state their intended solution, but they haven't even really stated the problem as they recognize it. Please clarify. What I'm worried is that the only thing they're going to recognize and address is the arrow penalty issue, which is the single most obviously broken thing about rangers right now, but is far from the only problem with the class. Furthermore, I'm concerned that their solution to this problem is going to be something like making T8 crafted arrows level 80 and not implementing some way of getting an unlimited supply of high-quality level 80 arrows (i.e. arrow-summoning item), thus forcing rangers to spend massive amounts of money over any other class just to be able to get full damage efficiency from their primary weapon. Such a solution would be extremely lame, but it strikes me as a distinct possibility. Don't go this route, Sony. Rangers need some way of getting an unlimited supply of arrows that give them full damage efficiency and are better than crafted arrows. Also, address more then just the arrow issue, as fixing that alone would be insufficient.
