In my grp setup (illus/inq/troub/lock/wiz/me) the numbers generally run:

#1-sorcs
#2-assassin
#3-ranger/illus

In zones with yellow con mobs, the assassin is easily #1 with sorcs #2 and I can beat the illusionist the majority of the time and by a few hundred zw. The moment you step into VP the above situation takes over due to the amount of misses melee classes are getting on auto atks. I'm fully confident that if arrows were fixed and orange con mobs were looked at rangers could easily hold their own at the top of the parse. At the moment we can not.

I parsed our assas at 5k7 on a VP's West Wing trash with illu DA and my ubber defiler ritual of alacrity... any idea what a ranger could output ?

I've had 4.5 on Overking trash with an Illy as my only buffer. I'm sure a better ranger could get 5kish heh.

I can't give solid numbers because not only do they vary drastically from guild to guild, but they would also probably work against my overall point. An ideal theoretical what could I parse type deal is nice to look at, but would take away from what I'm saying especially if I were to not post everyone else's numbers in the raid too. However, the order I posted above will hold true, so if your assassins is at 5k, then a ranger with the same skill would be significantly lower.
