Re: State of our Class - Rangers
About the ranged hit rates. Isn't still higher than melee autoatk hit rates? Not saying there isn't anything wrong but at least for me it seems my ranged hit rate is usually like 10% or so higher than my melee hit rate. Using RSB and the crafted 50% hit bonus arrows. And my ranged skill is much lower than my melee skill and than rangers..so just my .02 Also the melee hit rate problem is there but I think it's exaggerated a bit since people are not looking at overall hit rates, ca's are hitting fine, it's just the autoatk, which for assassins is only a part of our total dps. So when people say 60% hit rate, they need to say 60% melee autoatk rate.

Re: State of our Class - Rangers
Crafted arrows have a 30% to hit bonus not 50%. And you're correct ranged auto does have a slightly higher hit rate for auto attack then melee. But you also need to look at where DPS is coming from for each class. As an assassin you create more DPS off your CA's then your melee auto attack. Rangers are just the opposite where a higher portion comes from auto attack.
So while both ranged and melee hit rates are fubar atm on orange con mobs. And even though melee auto is a little more screwed then ranged. Your assassin is actually hurt less then a ranger that heavily reliant on auto attack for his DPS. Because CA's have a high hit rate and your assassin has such high damage CA's is why an assassin can still hit for high parses in VP compared to a ranger who has very weak CA's.

Re: State of our Class - Rangers
err 30% yea. Good points. Also I haven't tried a t8 bow yet cause I just got one and haven't adorned it so I would lose 10dps so won't comment on those yet but I'm gonna try it and see if they are indeed useless to use at this point like you all are saying.

Re: State of our Class - Rangers
I can't really say on the T8 bows since I don't have one. We've only had two drop and I passed on both. Resonating Wire went to our MT because of the huge HP and STA on it. And Vol'drath just dropped couple days back but let another scout take it since epic's come out next week.

Re: State of our Class - Rangers
Crychtonn is 110% on the aa vs ca whole deal, bigger issue for us on the mechanics front especially.
As for T8 bows I've had Vol'Drath for about 3 weeks or so now, and for the last 2 it has been in my inventory and I have been using RSB.
The mechanics with DT summoned ammo (lvl 67 or 69?), I am doing more damage with RSB until this is resolved. Which as has been mentioned before makes the epic worthless as well currently.

Re: State of our Class - Rangers
Some I know, some I don't, a lot of things worry about where the devs are going with the ranger class. As someone who has played my class for 3 years and 270+days of play time, I been strong to the class, always having hope, always hoping something will be done to our class, whether fixed, given some kind of utility, or an increase in the amount of dps that we do.
From reading what was posted I agree with a lot of it. How can we improve or become better when we are set up to fail. We can only go so far being our class. I don't know what we can do besides use same tier ammo and bows, and loading up on ranged crit gear, what else can we do.
I and a few others are rangers in raid guilds and these guilds love having us, we do our best and we do pretty good damage but we are losing our foothold. Other guilds around the world do not use rangers at all in their guilds, because of the utility we do not bring that all the other scout classes do bring. The class itself is not bad for soloing, just loved going out there from 70-80 on my own and leveling up in week and a half, but what about raiding.
Not that they will ever get rid of our class, but those that were once Gods, oh how we have fallen. I feel like I am always constantly working to maintain parse, unlike some classes where they can spam ca's.
No offense to swashies and assassins, but how does another dps class compete with that? To be honest I don't know, I believe they are way to overpowered, the weapons are amazing, the way the classes are set up there are no negative returns besides being in the fray, maybe worrying about an aoe, but timing and mashing ca's seem to favor these classes. I don't know if something should be done with those classes but I favor something being done with this class. How could our class be fixed, and I am just not talking about an ammo bow mechanical fix, I'm talking about a way to bring some kind of utility to the class, some kind of reason to have a ranger in a raid, some kinda of way of being higher tiered dps.
I mean we can all complain about what we need, what is wrong with the class, but its up to the devs to see our posts and to do something about it. And I know that doing something for one class is biased and alot of classes would hate it but roll a ranger, play it, raid with it, solo with it, then see what we have to work with.
I know it sounds cliche' but walk a mile in our shows(without pathfinding, lol) then understand our frustration, fix us, help us have some kind of utility, up our dps to uberness again.
I love my Ranger and like I said I will maintain the faith that the devs will do something, all I can say to my Ranger brothers and sisters is have some faith, hold in their, don't give up, and do the best you can with what we have.
