I've seen him raid, he still sits in the back busting out bow shots inbetween waiting for deadly blast to pop back up!

I even saw him hurl one of those throwing knives from his bandolier once!

When I returned to EQ2, I left my prior main alone and rolled a monk, in hopes she'd be something like the Vanguard monks. Well, I was quite off there, and only got to 17 before I rolled the ranger, thinking since they were good in EQ1...

I think I was around 70 before I realized ranger dps wasn't the shit, lol. But, I figured with time and gear, I'd get some of those parses I kept reading about in the ranger channel. My guild raids in an alliance and I'm constantly in the top 10, can hit the top 5 in the right group makeup (I really hate being group dependent tho). I even occassionally out parse my brig friend :P

I don't want to betray, I enjoy the ranger style of play. I guess I just hope someday they'll either increase our dsp or give us some other form of utility. Until then, well... at least I'm almost always the only ranger on our raids... it's good for loot :D
