With the introduction of the bard epics its time this actually be looked at. Precision and Blades are now raid wide with epics. This is cool, except for the fact it helps every class in game except rangers. Some classes even benefit from both the troub and the dirge epic. There is absolutely no reason at all that blades should not work off ranged attacks. This would be a VERY simple fix and would make the bard epics useful for all 24 classes instead of just 23....

This should have been fixed years ago tbh, but yea, the issue has definitely taken on a new sense of urgency now.

First of all, if I did parse 9k, it was just a freak spike on like one fight. Realize that the context in which he said that was talking about tank aggro, in which context spike damage is relevant. That is not what I am doing consistently. Second of all, I consider the CoB issue (and other proc/item issues) to be a broken mechanic that should be fixed regardless.

9k spikes is definately T1 dps, so maybe rangers aren't as bad off as they'd like to imply.

Personally, I can't even remember spiking to 9k. I can remember a fight or 2 in the low 8k range. Also realize I have my raid epic, and I'm pretty sure wizards and assassins have been spiking 8k since before epics were released. To meet the new, epic standard of T1 dps (and exceed it somewhat due to lacking any meaningful utility whatsoever, unless they are given utility), rangers definitely need their issues addressed.

Additionally, I think it's pretty shameful to argue rangers' issues shouldn't be addressed when pretty much everyone knows damn well they've been an inferior class since the start of RoK.

If we could possibly leave the sarcasm out for the time being, its pretty obvious that in a raid with full epics rangers are still an inferior dps class. Even if rangers were easily topping the parse (WHICH WE ARE NOT), the fact that blades/precision benefit everyone's dps in the raid besides rangers points to a broken aspect of the buffs and should be fixed anyway. Since rangers are not topping the parses as is, it brings all the more importance to this being addressed.

Exactly, it's a broken mechanic that should be fixed simply because it's broken. Honestly, sometimes the double standards that are applied to rangers are pretty fucking appalling to me. I mean ffs, when other classes ask for fixes, I don't see others swooping in accusing that their class is "fine" (which rangers are not, btw) and thus doesn't "need" the fix. If you're going to support shit like the Kilij nerf because it was a "broken" weapon proccing off bow (though I still don't think the logic they use for weapon procs is consistent), you need to be equally eager to support fixes the other fucking way around, fixes to armor, jewelry, and buffs not proccing off bow, or else you're just being a fucking hypocritical douchebag.
