I'm not sure how he is speced as far as aa. As far as gear I would say he is not doing to bad. No VP pieces but I think he is using the sword that drops of Doomcoil and a cariodcutter and His Epic bow. His arrows he is summoning from the old DT bow off of Named that was down the ramp in the water. I know he has gotten the +5 range crit arms and +4 ranged crit helm from PR recently and i think a nice wrist item also. Outside of that im not sure what else he has gotten over the last month.

What should he be parsing?

I mean for a class that has no group benifical spells and low dps. I still think im better off bringing in another caster if im looking to do range from distance. I dont know the class aswell as the people that play it so Im asking.

He should be parsing above 3k, that is if the rest of your guild doesn't suck enough to drag his numbers down.

Also, he should be in a group with decent buffs, Rangers are all gimme and not herehavethis.

He should be parsing above 3k. I am nowhere near the best geared ranger and my guild just cleared t1. ( I do have RSB though). I am usually somewhere around 3.5k zw.

It woulda been much more fun to actually see his raids parses then it woulda been to tell him what his rangers should be parsing.

Besides that, obvious issues come up when saying rangers should be parsing XXX. Gear (read bows), and groups go a long way to making a rangers DPS look good or bad. Yes I realize that the ranger must also KNOW how to play, but you cant over look the first two.

I'd still like to see a few zonewides from their raids to get a full picture of where his ranger stands in relation to the rest of the raid. Group break downs would be helpful here as wel. And of course the pie chart of his rangers total DPS would be helping in finding some mistakes that he might be making.

I'd okay that with him first however. Some ppl can be sensitive about the parses being posted around.

Here's a simple and faster change. Dump the Serrator sword (Doomcoil) and the Cariodcutter. Spend 2p and buy a Croaking Dirk and then go farm Mega$$$ or drop 20p and get a Shield of the Forocious (sp?). Instant DPS improvement for him. If he asked why he should do this point him to simple thing #3 and tell him he needs to work on that.

PS - I know there are even better setups with BotH and Maestro's but I'm giving him the fast and very easy to get combo.

Soulfire Saber and Seb Croaking are a decent combo too.
And like i said before, if its the ranger that i checked out on eq2players hes specced for heavy melee and very little ranged
