Default Confusion Regarding Poisons

I have a few questions regarding poisons

1st. I know int affects the damage of caustic poisons for sure. What is the deminishing return of this?
2nd. I've been told conflicting stories regarding +spell damage, or spell crit no longer affect poisons. Is this true?
3rd. With the proc rate change. How will this affect poisons?

1. rule of thumb: soft cap = 2/3 of hard cap (= 1200) so round about 800 int (same for all stats)
2. +spell dmg does NOT affect procs (poisons are procs), spell crit does affect procs
3. they proc less often, because usually bow delay is higher than 5.33 sec (delay without haste counts)

So, whereas before some people felt a bit of pride (misplaced or not) in speccing their rangers with INT and other things to gain benefit from our large proportion of poison damage, now we will be STR monkeys like every other scout class.. haha...

vive la difference!

Good question, though. It's best to know what is reality vs myth.

Currently i have over 600 str, and around 350 int. I believe what he's saying that we will need to concentrate on STR more in order to compensate for the lack of procs on our poisons. which means int will be less important.....man I love casting arrows...oh well

The proc change is not going to happen.
STR was ALWAYS more important than int

And just look at how ranger items have NO FUCKING STRENGTH ON THEM!!!!

Everything about the ranger class is so screwed up and conflicted right now, its amazing.
We need str, and get none.
We need the mage group to parse the best, and get a melee group buff.
We needed arrows to be fixed to make our T8 bows better than T7, and we get T7 nerfed instead.
We get a miniscule CA damage upgrade (to the "low reuse CAs") and auto attack is lowered by a higher overall dps %.
We finally get in on the support class' procs, and they reduce our proc rate.


If dumb fuck was just going to make sure we stayed right where we were before the upcoming GU, why fucking bother making all these changes to begin with?

I guess at least in this case, we are actually getting kissed while being dry fucked?

Let me restate my quote for those with low reading comprehension skills.

If these changes go through our STR numbers will need to be even higher and int wont' matter as much as it did
