You don't need a raid. You need an Illy, Inquis, Coercer, Mystic, Wizard, Zerker. Something like that.

I never said it was practical but to test for the most our class can do that's what you'd need.

And I was trying to go for buffs without procs, that's why I didnt put a dirge up there. Could sub the Mystic for a troub or something as I just put him up there for stats.

Parsing solo would give you a more accurate parse for other rangers to compare to wouldn't it. I mean if you start adding variables of other group members then you have to get every ranger those same characters so they can parse with......this was suppose to be a baseline ranger only parsing against the wall, if you add grp members after you benchmark your ranger soloing against the wall it's only going to get better. Yet, apparently this is going to be a debate on how it's done oh well so much for a good idea......

All or none when it comes to buffs will generate actual numbers, that can be used. Trying to find out where you parse compared to other Ranger's is just the sort of e-peen showing that I could give a shit less about.

Wouldn't you rather know the absolute best your class can do in order to strive for that? Or would you rather see if your Ranger has a bigger peen than someone elses?

Dantel, I always enjoy your kind language and that you stoop to share the ultimate wisdom with us.

If you use a raid to make the results, you'll add a huge number of variables (just an example: you'd have to compare quality of the buffs A3/M1 of nearly all members) and the results will of course depend on what your mates do as well (for example renewing their short-time buffs in time).

Pardon me if I'm with Dellona: comparing solo numbers has enough variables in it already. If you give a shit on it, I'm fine with that. But I don't have the luxury of having the same raid setup every time. I'd want to optimize my handling (cast order etc.), so I can surely understand Dellona's issue.

Dantel, you completely miss the point. Doing this test with everyone who buffs you does nothing to give a baseline, which is the entire point of this test.

I'll do it when I log in later, because I'm not afraid to post my non-buffed numbers like some.

Parsing like this solo doesnt mean shit.
Your always going to be in a group somewhere that gives you some sort of benefit (we'll leave soloing heroics out of this as they usually focus more on snaring)
what good is it going to do to say well gee I parse 1500 on the training wall but 2000 in a raid? WOW I must be doing something right!
Getting a baseline with your raid group or heroic group set up is going to help you with the largest improvements in personal DPS.
