Rangers comparable to swashies

In the raids its like almost perfect balance how they line up. Somedays things shift around slightly but in general things look pretty much dead on. This is one reason I'm trying to go with smaller changes rather than overshooting and having to scale back.
Now looking at the group data you get a different perspective. The rogues, assassins and bruisers definitely excel here but you are still neck and neck with the wizards and warlocks. I've also noticed wizards complaining in group situations as well so you arent alone here. Group fights are fast and furious no doubt about that and the top classes here definitely have a bit better setup for these situations but when you look at raids where the fights lengthen you see how they really fall into place.
All of this data is something I will keep analyzing for sure. This is why I am trying to keep to small adjustments like I have said in the past. In the meantime though, we need less of these outrage threads because they do not end up helping you out since they are distracting while trying to find the few good suggestions from the level headed folks.

Want a flame here ya go!!!
Looking through the data the statement that a ranger is comparable to a swashie in a raid environment is infuriating. A ranger is soley a dps class nothing more. We do not debuff we do not buff we do not have hate transfer we can not heal we have no useful utility to offer. The short duration focus aim buff that improves melee hit rates and effectivness is for melee classes only. With that said a ranger will not be a vialble option to the group makeup that has kept it competitive. Who will get this buff in a mage group ? The troub ?
We only hit the top of the parse when buffed to the extreme. It takes 3-5 classes to keep a ranger a dps option to a raiding guild which is what were all talking about. It happens that the top 2 raiding guilds on Guk do not even have a ranger on there raiding force for just this reason. Hell the EQ2flames ranger board is not even run by a ranger any longer. We do not have a developer that plays a ranger or even knows how we dps. Comparing us with a T2 dps class and saying things are right were they should be is just retarted giving the green light to assassins and wizards to excell is the whole reason there is a flame and mass /cancelations going on. I for one have lost faith that things will ever work as intended and that raingers will continue to be gimped. I am 1 patch away from changing my main from ranger that I truely love to play to brigand which does nearly as much dps as a ranger but brings a whole lot more to a raid. Im tired of seeing a well worded note from developers saying were workig on fixing the class ,to find out that nothing is gonna change that what we were doing previously was a flook and was overpowered when I had to stay on top of my game then to be comparable to a warlock wizard and assassin there was nothing wrong with the RSB but all of a sudden that became a GOD bow of sorts when arrow mechanics were looked into. When a dev can actually go behind the scenes and change the output of current equipment and adjust to better suit there needs is scary. How is it without changing the delay, DR or stats on a bow can even the epik be scaled down to the point of a t7 bow be possible. Aeralikmyballs will never betray to a ranger because he knows full well there usefullness on a raid and would lose his place on the roster and thats bad for buisness. Give us somebody who actually gives a fuck will read the boards and rants take a good look into mechanics and utility test the class /feedback and come back with a proper diagnosis of what can be done to bring things back into line.

Hope, some of the whining rangers are quiting, betraying or changing their toons soon... all this shit is getting annoying.

Re: Rangers comparable to swashies
Well I quit raiding - partly due to rl but Rangers being screwed for 6 months with nothing more than lip service being paid to our issues helped the decision along a lot faster than otherwise.
Right now I'm playing my alts - Mythical equipped Ranger in storage unless my old guild needs a dps slot filled on a raid at a time I can make. They are not recruiting another Ranger until I've tested the changes on live in a raid situation with them. If we aren't right up there with Wizzies and Assassins, they won't be grabbing a Ranger.
I didn't like RoK as an expansion and itemisation has been beyond screwed since it's release. I'm seriously considering heading to WoW where at least if I am forced to solo, it's in a game that's been doing it well from the start. If not WoW, Mythos looks like it would pass some time.

See this is what I don't get. People that quit because they're tired of putting up with Sony's bullshit get the tag "whiner".
So because some people are too fucking stupid to lay on their back and take it like a second rate whore from whoever is willing to fuck them, that makes them whiners?
I will GLADLY be a whiner than continue to put up with Sony's "fuck our playerbase we'll do what we want" attitude.

Re: Rangers comparable to swashies
Aeralik will never loose his place on the roster as long as he keeps feeding them QA raid strats. That being said, I honestly cannot believe he things being on the par with brigands is spot on where we need to be. Honestly, what game is he playing?
He also stated later that wizards are doing more dps than assasins and may have to be brought down a notch. This was in response to assasins being called the golden children, lol. He says if any class is the golden children, it is the wizzies. Poor wizzies.. watch your backs.
Anyway, as soon as half the rangers get done betraying, there are going to be a lot more assasins vying for spots in raid guilds. Hope all the current assasins are prepared to compete against former rangers for their spots. Oh, except you Aeralik.. you just keep looking the other way when your guild exploits VP mobs for their mythicals and you'll be fine.

You need to stop mis-quoting ppl. Aeralik, as much as I dislike the guy, did not say that wizards were the golden childern. That was a comment made by someone else in reference to my post, where I dubbed assassins as the golden child.
He also said we were right there with swashys.. not brigands. In fact, Im pretty sure the first mention of brigs was when you ... "got it wrong"...

Re: Rangers comparable to swashies
Since launch Wizards have been needing some help heh. I have no problem helping a class that sucks when they shouldn't.
Bruisers for instance, like us, have been getting the shaft since DoF as well.

Re: Rangers comparable to swashies
LOL ah well, *note to self*, don't read forums and post when tired, hungry and grumpy. I could have sworm that was Aeralik on the wizards. And who cares if it was swashies or brigs? It was t2 utiity scout.. and apparantly where we belong too.
On the bright side, I finally got my mythical.. and I'm not retired. I have a lot more to smile about then some of ya's picking on my mixing up brigs and swashies when I type.
